Hi Trudy

Im with you.

I check out EVERYTHING first before I put it in my body.

- But -

You must remember two things:

1 - taking any kind of meds is a balancing act - what you need vs damage and sides.

2 - all the info on any kind of drug is just to inform you of the 'potentials', and doesnt necessarily mean that you will react like is discribed.

Sometimes I over-react to what I read....yes, Im guilty of this. LOL :-)

But its my body, health, and life, and Id would rather err on the side of precaution, than be struck down after the fact.

Trudy, there are many many kinds head-meds.

None of them will really be liver friendly, as our liver processes most everything we put in our bodies.

I think like this - if I really dont feel comfortable with a med after researching it - I dont take it, and look for another answer.

This is why I gave you the link to Cymbalta, and Im glad you read up on it.

Now, discuss this info with your doctor, and see if the two of you can figure out how to balance your needs.

All that you will lose is some time.

BTW, who is prescribing your head-meds?

Your GP or do you have a head-doc?

Perhaps you should talk to your liver-doc about this issue.

That is what I do.

GP's and head-docs know little about the liver, but your liver-doc has probably faced this issue before.

Trudy, if you can stop smoking without totally losing it, do so.

If you cant, then dont. One day maybe you can.

Balance.

Okay, I read the drug info on Cymbalta. I realize that in today's legal mumbo-jumbo world EVERYTHING comes with disclaimers, but the reports on this drug scares me. It says( like all do) that it may cause liver problems. But it goes on to say that there have been reports of it causing hepititus. That seems like it is pretty hard on liver. And it says not to be taken by anyone with a family history of bipolar disorder. I don't, but my daughter is EXTREME bipolar ( rapid-cycling) and my mother was schezephrenic(sp) manic depressive. VERY. I have always been aware and watchful of my self. So far, so good...till just last year with HCV, Fibro and post- menopausal. Am I just over-reacting about this drug, Cymbalta?? Darn again! I was really hoping to get some relief from this Tensed-up, stressed feeling I have 24/7...there aren't any life factors to cause this, just this damn illness. And I don't want to smoke. ( it does

help with stressed feeling). Whatto do, what to do.... http://facebook.com/people/andTrudy-Kinsey/1340460877 " "A well- behaved woman never made history"...Mae Westhttp://oktravels.wordpress.comhttp://allrecipes.com/cook/TrudyK/profile.aspx ------------------------------------
