DonI believe that not only the patients; but, the Drs would like to know the root cause of migraines!!! It's a research all by itself and vast numbers of people live their entire life's getting them. I know it was my Ophthalmologist (eyes) that told me that aged and/or dried foods brought them on. For instance, I could never ever drink red wine. Just popping the cork brought on a migraine for me.Also, I've never heard of a test that can be done for migraines. However, Marie - do ask the Dr. about any medication that affects the liver. Most meds do; but, some are a whole lot worse than others.Gloria

Hi Marie

Both these things should not have happened.

[1] Prescribing without testing.

[2] 'Dropping the ball' on the HCV referal.

- Prescribing without testing as to cause, is typical of a doctor who doesnt give a hoot.

Doctors who want only to collect fees and kickbacks, and/or are too busy to handle the patient load they have taken on. [ER doctors]

- Your HCV is a LIFE THREATING disease, even though it usually progresses slowly.

I can understand one mistake, but two mistakes at the same time tells me one thing only.

Then throw in the fact that you said you have been having these headaches since 12 !!!!!!!

And you are how old now? How many years has this been going on?

Someone needs to find the cause of this problem, not just dose you with meds.

Pain is a warning sign.

Then this doctor is going to make you wait for a follow-up visit?

I suggest that you find a new doctor, one who will work with you to root out the causes, and does not 'drop the ball'.

Marie, ER's are not a good place to get proper health care.

They stabilize you, and send you packing.

You need a regular GP, and that GP needs to address your health issues with testing, labs, and specialists if necessary.

You also need to be seeing a Hep-doc or Gastro knowledgeable of HCV.

This is all my opinion only, and I am NOT a med professional.

Hi Don,They did no labs or tests for the headaches just a few questions and wrote the prescriptions. The referral to the liver clinic she said just got over looked someone dropped the ball. She does know I have HCV and am anxious to start with treatment. I really think I may call around for another doctor.~

I really wish you would tell about your alternative meds, I failed tx and currently taking low dose milk thistle. I to have been to the local er for chest pain - all I get is I dont know and a $3000 bill my insurance pays about 50% of this.

Hi ,I'm 75 and went to ER for severe chest pain on left side and dizziness recently I had burning sensation up into my face. I was kept 8 hours on one of those hard cots, given 2 Iv's with morphine, a few blood tests, no EKG etc, and released with a diagnosis of anemia. For that, they charged my insurance $999.00. Hell, I could have scored 2 shots of morphine for a lot less (or could have long ago). Went home wrapped in a pink cloud of opiate bliss, but little medical knowledge of what really happened. Guess that is why I use alternative meds for my Hep C.SuziQ> > > > > > Hi Don,> They did no labs or tests for the headaches just a few questions and wrote the prescriptions.
