thanks for this. My pain is really kicking my butt today. It was for the last couple of days. I just laid there for a while this morning hating the idea I would sooner or later have to move to get up. It hurts to move. I hurt from my head to my toes. Even my arms and legs. My toes and fingers. I don't have any infection as far as I know. The closest to it would be sinus which I have had for quite awhile. No UTI's No URI's either. Just hurts like hell. I can lay there and it will calm down some but boy move at all and instant horrible pain.

Well gonna go take a nap. Got to work tomorrow and am dreading it. Got some gal starting a buch of stuff with me and I am not looking forward to seeing her again. Anyway Hope you are doing better than me. Hugs Cinder

Joint Pain and Hepatitis

Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C viruses infect (and affect) the liver. Sometimes these diseases also cause health problems that are “extrahepatic,†which means the problems occur outside the liver in other parts of the body. While not common, joint pain (arthralgia) and inflammation (arthritis) are two such conditions that might occur in people with these viruses.

What Are Arthralgia and Arthritis?

Arthralgia is pain in a joint, which is the point where bones meet each other. Arthritis is inflammation of a joint that will sometimes include swelling, redness and pain.

Will I Have Joint Pain?

It's possible. Joint pain is a common symptom of acute hepatitis (when symptoms are present) and chronic hepatitis. It's also a common side-effect of hepatitis medications such as peginterferon and ribavirin. Some studies suggest that nearly one-third of people with hepatitis C will have arthritis.

What Causes Joint Pain?

Many things cause joint pain. Infections are sometimes a cause, even those that don't specifically target joints and bones (such as hepatitis which targets liver cells). When people complain of joint pain with no obvious cause, doctors will sometimes look for undiagnosed infections, among other possibilities.

Understanding Arthritis and Joint Pain What Are Joints?

How Do Infections Cause Joint Pain?

It is not clear exactly why certain infections cause joint pain. Many doctors think that antibodies that the body makes in response to the infection end up cross-reacting with certain molecules in joint tissue, leading to inflammation and pain. In some patients with hepatitis C-associated arthritis, specific antibodies (called cryoglobulinemia) can be detected in blood samples.

What Can I Do to Ease the Pain?

For non-arthritis joint pain, sometimes using a heating pad or soaking in a warm bath can help reduce the pain. Gentle massage and stretching exercises might also help. There are medications (both prescription and over-the-counter) that can help relieve pain and inflammation, but if you have liver disease you should first speak with your doctor.

Thanks Don, Can't really get comfortable enough to drown in our bathtub. Now the hot tub well that would be different. I got to get the water changed in it and treated again. It went all winter without being changed. It is time. The PH is way off kilter. I just hate getting all comfortable and warm and feeling nice and then you got to get out and get cold and wrap up and run all the way into the house to warm up again. It is in the garage. Garage not connected to house. In the winter you run through ice and snow to get to it. lol. The first time I was in it Rick was so proud of his choice of hot tubs because it had this turbo jets for the neck and shoulders on one corner. He told me to sit there. I did. He turned it on and wow I flew across that hot tub and right down into it. Them some jets. This hot tub could be dangerous. Since we learned to keep the

air turned down when turning those jets on. I got the hot tub because of arthritis. We had gone to Corpus Christie by motorcycle and in the evening we would sit in the KOA campgrounds hot tub. I told him I really wanted one that it felt so so good on my muscles. Well he did. Came home and it wasn't even a year and he got me one. Then the ice storm took that one out putting a cottonwood tree through it. Thanks to insurance on the house we got a new one. But the best investment we have made for my arthritis so far.

Well gonna go watch a movie so better get this email done so I can. Have a good night. Cinder

Hi Trudy, Wow we used to RV also. We had a toy hauler and hauled my rebel and his 1500 Goldwing SE.

I thought about triking mine and for now we think we are going to sell mine and get me a four by four four wheeler side by side to use at the misslebase. I am not biking near as much. I had a friend stop by not long ago and told me since I can't ride mine that in the summer any time I want a ride call him and I can come into town and he will take me on a run. I am not so sure my hubby would like it though. He is a bit possesive. I was friends with a lot of bikers. I was the newsletter editor for about 6 years of the Goldwing touring association and before that I was around a lot of bikers in my life. dating and other. Anyway I love the look of some of the goldwing and harley trikes. I don't like the price. I love my yamaha Virago. They call it the viagra bike. lol. It is so far the tallest bike I have been able to still touch flat foot on. But my hands go numb. I am scared I will not be able to keep using the hand controls with my hands numb. So

probably better not ride. I would love to get back into my horse riding. I had 30 some years at that riding showing training and giving riding lessons. That would be a dream. Right now my biggest dream is to beat this hep C and move into the misslebase and make if our own and love life. We have all our plans drafted already. Rick did all the drafting. He is having to tear down what was in there first and cleaning it then we start rebuilding it as we want it. We have a trailer out there. We will live in the trailer till we can move down there. The trailer will also be for when I hurt too bad to go down there. That is a lot of stairs. Where do you live in your RV at your place or are you traveling? I really can't remember please forgive me. I know you have told me. We had some interesting stays at some of the RV parks along the way. We even stayed at one called the Wacky cowboy park. It was in Valentine Nebraska. We rode horseback there. Thought it

was going to be an awful ugly place to ride but it ended up being the most beautiful ride. And he did not give me a dead horse to ride. He gave me a spirited part arabian that had some pep. I loved it. We had a blast. The guides horse was green and stepped on a branch and it flipped back up and hit the horses leg and it bucked him off. Both us were able to keep our horses under control. They were spooked but we kept them from doing anything. Rick was on a dead head. Mine reared up but I am pretty used to ones like her. The ride went down where you could look down a mountain side. Beautiful. It was where the first wagon train had gone through Nebraska. The man was a history teacher so we got a full history lesson while we were riding. We got a 3 hour ride for 1 hour price. It was a blast.

Well better go. Nice talking to you. writing a book. Cinder Good to hear from another bike lover.

Keep the shiney side up and I am not talking about your butt.
