Guest guest
Hi, I'm RandyO over in St. Pete . 1A is the hardest to treat, but not necessarily the worst. Treartment (tx) can be vary tough. I had to work and eventually could not. I lost 25lbs. from 145 to 120 and I'm not a big guy. I developed hypothyroidism which robs your body of nutrients and thus weight loss. The mental aspect is the thing that I found tough. Seek mental health help, it is very hard to stay positive when you feel like crap. Stay active if you can and have someone to support you. Sounds like he has you. Stay out of the sun, your skin gets irritable (mine did)and positively give up alcohol. Find out all you can at this site and keep us posted. You will find that many doctors know very little of about the rerality of treatment. Make sure you find a doctor that has treated or even specializes in treating HCV. I could tell you a lot more but many here can add to my take, so listen. And God Bless.Randy

Guest guest
Dear WifeyGot to laugh about the name. My uncle has called is wife, "wifey" for so many years, that we all have a tendency to refer to her that way as well. Plus, it's always been down with such deep affection between them, that it's always warmed us all.OK geno type 1A is one of the more difficult types to treat. Really, it's not worse or better, just harder to treat. Elevated liver enzymes only mean that it's time to see a specialist. Even what will sound like a high number of those little HepC dragons running around in the blood, does not mean a whole lot. The most important thing of all, is that your husband have a liver biopsy!! Likely, if the Dr's visit on Thurs is with a Hep Dr. or Gastro, they will order up more tests and possibly book a biopsy. The amount of damage the dragons have done to the liver will be the most important information. When I had my first biopsy, I was already what they refer to as Stage 3 (bridging fibrosis) and there are only 4 stages. Sometimes they grade even the stages as well. Like Stage 3 Level 1. However, they did not go to that extent giving me the report. Whether they had something on file I wouldn't know or care much.Personally, I've been on 2 treatments now!! The absolute most important start is to have a copy of all the blood reports etc. Right now, you may not understand a word that it says; but, a lot of us can help - it's really not difficult. There is absolutely no way that we could say whether your hubby could continue to work or not. That's very individual. Same as the side affects from treatment - extremely individual. Plus, hubby's age and general health would be very important in the mix.Gloria my husband just found out he has type 1a hep c/ seeing the dr on thurs. if he takes the treatment can he work?? we work at the beach and his job is very physical. is the 1a the worst one? he has elevated liver enzymes too. we live in daytona beach , any info helps!! thanks wifey Get the name you've always wanted ! @ymail.com or @rocketmail.com.
