Guest guest
I have a very dear friend who is a bio-chemist, she insists GMOs are harmless. Perhaps she is right and maybe I'm just a conspiracy nut. If you've ever used Roundup , then you know it kills everything. I am not convinced eating any food the is 'roundup ready' is all that healthy. And if the FDA says there is nothing wrong with it, why are they so adamant on damanding it not be included on the food labels. As I said earlier, the Europeans, Brazilians, and even some African nations have banned its importation. Corn and wheat has always been the bread and butter of American exports. This is suicide both economically as well as literally. Here's what they do. Sell seeds to one farmer. He grows the prettiest and tallest corn in the area. He can spray any chemical he wants, especially roundup (Monsanto owns the seeds & roundup). The surrounding farmers get convinced that's the way to go and also start buying their GMO seeds. The others who hold out start getting sued by Monsanto because they find some of their genetically modified plants are growing on that farmer's land (spread by wind, birds, etc). Back in the 40's or 50's someone convinced the FDA and congress to allow living organisms to be patented. So Monsanto sues under patent violation laws. The poor farmer who has been cultivating his own seeds for generations is either driven out of business, or has to settle out-of-court and switch to buying from Monsanto. "Who owns oil controls nations, who owns food controls people" Henry Kessinger. Now that they own the monopoly on seeds, they plan on raising their price: http://blogs.healthfreedomalliance.org/blog/2009/08/18/monsanto-to-charge-as-much-as-42-more-for-new-seeds/ There is not a farm in the mid west that does not use GMO seed products. That means most all the corn, wheat, soy, and grape seed (canola) sold in grocery stores is genetically modified and you don't know it because they won't allow it to be labeled as such. Next on the list is cloned beef. bon appetit, RocketRon
