Guest guest
Dear not so bad after all, That's neat, why did you need a blood transfusion? Would like to agree with you it doesn't matter where we got it and would also like to suggest that IV drug use for whatever reason, be it recreation, mystical experience, escape, to fit in, whatever is not bad behavior. What's bad behavior is making drugs illegal and making syringes difficult to obtain. Prohibition is the bad act, not following our natural instincts to alter consciousness. That's a human trait. I'd also like to suggest that there is nothing wrong with being an addict. The problem comes when the establishment sets a prohibition on the addicted to substance. If caffeine were banned tomorrow we'd have a whole new class of criminals because that is one of the most addictive drugs on the market today. Speaking to the idea of a commune, this list is our virtual commune. There really isn't a reason or much of a chance of ever having a real life commune and it likely isn't necessary with the high level of interaction we have right here. best, Dear ,Agreed it can matter very much how we got it when it comes to claiming compensation, and if blood services, our the government is respondsible for infecting you......indeed you should get your disability and be compensated. That was not the conversation I was replying to if you read the post"bob' had made a comment on "his Opinion" on the percentage of people he feels contracted this disease out of "bad behavoir" again"his opinion"being an advocate I could argue those stats but anyway....what I was saying is it is very sad if we in the hep community start diving ourselves into catagories and stigmatizing one another. how are we ever going to raise awareness and educate the public????!!! , to dispel stigma and discrimanation associatied with this Silent Killer? As a community we need to come Together, take care of each other, who cares how each of us got the disease, I contracted hep c from a blood transfusion , and have no problem being "friends" with those who contracted from Iv drug use or any other way!that was my point!signed, not so bad after all. Guest guest
there's sure a lot to that. however some drugs, especially the ones usually used IV, are very problematic and that's why they became illegal. opiates becaqme illegal mainly due to the upper-class wives getting strung out on patent medicines and turning into evil bitches, etc. nobody cared about the chinese laborors. ethics, moral stantards and definitiions and priorities are altered by addiction, and as the drug addiction becomes more powerful ethics and moral compass increasingly turn into mere concepts to use in conversation and manipulations with no meaningful presence in the addict. this is particularly true where the drug us repressed, suppressed, controlled. as long as the addict can get it without hardship or fear and use it cleanly they often can do so for a lifetime with less problems & damage created around them, an may well see their way clear on their own over time. vicious repression doesn't work well the drug war is an expensifve loser for all sides. restricting access to sanitary practices only increases disease problems. i don't know how to get at the rood of those problems. i just try to control myself. i'm really wanting a cigar bad... couple weeks into quitting. i miss them. america has been a nation of substance abusers since day 1. we took the opium and invented the heroin. we got the world hooked on tobacco. we are the main market for cocaine. some strange combo of perverts, religious fanatics, hypocrites, and substance abusers. with a pragmatic elitist efficiency to make it all happen. whoopee. jeez, i sure am wasting time for nothing. ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of M Ress Sent: Wednesday, August 05, 2009 3:12 PM Subject: [ ] where we got it and commune Dear not so bad after all, That's neat, why did you need a blood transfusion?
