Kathy ,

hugs and I sure feel for you. I know everytime they call me at home from work

and say how are you feeling I feel like they are just checking up on me to see

if I am out I guess having a party or something. But believe me this is no party

as you and all of us well know.

I am working only 1 day a week mostly volunteering but I am getting so darn

short of breath due to my labs being so messed up. But I guess it could be worse

I could be waiting for a transplant and there be nothing available for me. I am

not there and I have to be thankful for that.

Man I wish the drug companies would come up with a better treatment solution

that is more cost effective Actually that is my prayer.

New to Group

I have already been thru two treatments in the last six years but have never

belonged to a Hepatitis C group. I have chronic Hep C with scarring and fybrosis

and even though my viral count is around 10,000, I continue to feel sick every

single day. I am now 56 years old and it's so hard to get out of bed and keep

going to work. I miss more days now and had to go on Intermittent FMLA so I

don't get pointed and lose my job, which means no insurance. No one around me

seems to understand how I feel and sometimes I feel as though they think I'm

making my sickness up. I guess I need to know there are others out there who

will understand and how serious this disease is.

You vent all you want to, honey! We are here to listen. Been there and done it.

I also have been thinking about the Silver. 42 wk's of TX and it did not help

me. I am 1A and the TX was a year and a half ago. A lot of crap to go through

for nadda! Thinking of you.

I live in Michigan and here we have Blue Cross & Blue shield of MI individual

plans.  They can't turn you down.  Other insurance companies such as Aetna, can

turn you down, they are medically underwritten while BCBS of MI is not.  Here is

a website in CA that you might want to check into.

Unfortunately, my current employer doesn't offer insurance to their employees.

On the side, I used to be a caregiver until my friend died.  That's how I got

insurance in the first place.  I've been paying $308.00 per month for the last

12 months thinking that after 18 months, I would be able to qualify for the

HIPPA and then go on to get my own individual plan.  I must thank you because

now I'm going to go ahead and drop my COBRA and sign up for our local San

Francisco health plan which is really shitty coverage but a heck of a lot

cheaper than $308.00 per month.  I've been working with this company for six

years but since they are a small business, they don't offer health insurance.

Maybe I should start looking for a new job.

bummer.... the ER folk are mostly the better part of medicine, at least most

of the time.

baltimore is somewhat different... junkies with burning stones get pain

meds, no problem.

yeah, waking up still on this planet each day is usually dissapointing for

me unless i was having bad dreams. then to make it worse i listen to talk

radio most of the day while i work... a bad habit i picked up after 9/11.

the weird names of international power players past & present pop into my

consciousness for no reason without invitation or warning, and i mostly

can't even keep them sorted out.

if you stop treatment now, what you've done will be for nothing for sure.

if you're undetectable at this point it's probably worth it to stay the

course if you can?

i don't think CSilver is incompatible with tx drugs, but could possibly

complicate things...don't know. i know someone who took CS all the way

through treatment with no problem and did clear and remains clear. CS is

indeed exc for UTI's. i do recall that milk thistle has the ability to

prevent production of the enzyme that takes the tx drug levels down by

processing them out of the body, so if you take MT the level of the tx drugs

in your system can go higher than planned which isn't cool. i would think

that could be used to advantage if the tx serum levels are monitored the MT

could maybe give the same results with less tx intake, which seems like a

good idea. but i haven't heard of anyone trying to work with it like that.

chlorella, spirulina, chlorophyll, black sesame seeds (ground up), cold

pressed sesame oil, tahini, are all supposed to be real helpful for raising

RBC counts, but i don't know how they effect WBC's... i think they help.

google around and maybe you'll find some affordable goodies you like that

help the WBC's some ... any harmless help in the right direction should be a

good thing, eh?

bummer.... the ER folk are mostly the better part of medicine, at least most

of the time.

baltimore is somewhat different... junkies with burning stones get pain

meds, no problem.

yeah, waking up still on this planet each day is usually dissapointing for

me unless i was having bad dreams. then to make it worse i listen to talk

radio most of the day while i work... a bad habit i picked up after 9/11.

the weird names of international power players past & present pop into my

consciousness for no reason without invitation or warning, and i mostly

can't even keep them sorted out.

if you stop treatment now, what you've done will be for nothing for sure.

if you're undetectable at this point it's probably worth it to stay the

course if you can?

i don't think CSilver is incompatible with tx drugs, but could possibly

complicate things...don't know. i know someone who took CS all the way

through treatment with no problem and did clear and remains clear. CS is

indeed exc for UTI's. i do recall that milk thistle has the ability to

prevent production of the enzyme that takes the tx drug levels down by

processing them out of the body, so if you take MT the level of the tx drugs

in your system can go higher than planned which isn't cool. i would think

that could be used to advantage if the tx serum levels are monitored the MT

could maybe give the same results with less tx intake, which seems like a

good idea. but i haven't heard of anyone trying to work with it like that.

chlorella, spirulina, chlorophyll, black sesame seeds (ground up), cold

pressed sesame oil, tahini, are all supposed to be real helpful for raising

RBC counts, but i don't know how they effect WBC's... i think they help.

google around and maybe you'll find some affordable goodies you like that

help the WBC's some ... any harmless help in the right direction should be a

good thing, eh?

Thanks for the good info Bob, and yes the ER people are usually better... just

dont get sick in west texas that is all I am going to say lol.

I do have the milk thistle and I will try to keep on taking this stuff. and I so

understand you I listen to CNN first thing everyday does seem to put you in a

low mood lol but I decided I will try to keep myself stable at least until

November election!!

I think I will have my husband purchase some CS and see if it does anything and

yes my counts are better so .. I just need to hush and keep on keeping on. It is

certainly not worse than living on the streets of Juarez Mexico when I was still

using.

Thanks for having this group and listening to me bitch and moan.
