Getting put on disability can be a very long process. I applied in 2005 because

I just could not work,because of the fatigue,joint and muscle pain. I was not

yet diagnosed with Hep C. I didn't know what to do. My social worker told me to

sign up. After going through this process and seeing several of the Disability

Doc's, and being denied twice, I was diagnosed with H.C.V.

That is what turned my case around! In 2007 I went to my final hearing.It's like

court. I was scared to death! I was as broke as a person could be. I went there

with my head held high, and a legal service worker that was not the best. I told

the truth and looked the judge in his eye's. I had admitted to my Doc's that I

use Marijuana in the stead of Anti's. Of course the judge already knew all of

this. Also before this hearing I had endured 42 wk's of TX. In the end the

judge's decision was in my favor! In his words, even if I were to quit the

marijuana use and do the Doc's chemicals, I would still have a chronic disease.

He could not deny disability. Oh, by the way, the TX did not work for me and the

sides were unbearable.

a vengance. When it got over 3 million I knew I had to go on treatment again and

this time I made the whole year. It took almost eight months before the virus

was undetectable but since I made it a year I thought I would be good. After

being off treatment for two years, it is not gone completely, it's about 10,000.

I have never heard of cyro before, so I will have to look into that. You sound

like me where you get good at hiding how you feel but the pain is always there.

I am

taking up to six pills of Ultram a day, two Relafen, Hydrocodone, Synthroid,

Nexium, Provigial and Huimara injections. I never thought of filing for

disability until this last year. If you have more info on that I would

appreciate it. I have heard it is hard to get approval and should have a lawyer.

others and kept thinking I had to be strong. I know I'm sick but have not tried

for disability because I did not think I was sick enough, that others were worse

then me and suck it up and not be weak. But after suffering for so many years

and hiding how bad I feel, I realize it's time to do something. It sounds like

it is a very long process and I believe I need to go ahead and see a lawyer and

get things in the works. It was encouraging to hear how your judge realized you

bad docs suck.

being a non-responder sucks.

the current inf/riba tx options pretty much suck... the odds certainly do.

there's better tx coming some day, and it makes no sense to me to keep

tearing up the body trying the same toxic loser drugs over and over.

i know where you're coming from with symptoms dragging you toward being

unable to function. i do painting/wallpaper/carpentry/tile and got to a

point of serious desperation summer '06 when it was all i could do to crawl

through a day... really depressing, and since my life has pretty much always

been a depressing load of crap anyway suicide was a cheery thought.

following a clue from someone on one of the hep elists i tried home-brew

colloidal silver and it turned my life around in short order. i've been

fine since. i only regret i didn't start right off hitting it much harder

and heavier with at least a liter per day of CS which might've actually

cleared me. i'm currently finishing month 4 of one liter/day along with

lots of supps & herbs and good food... kind of an experiment to see if i

clear.

the point is the virus can be killed and managed, the liver can be protected

and regenerated, the immune system can be optimized, and life can be good

without wading through hell and putting up with arrogant shitheads looking

down their noses at you while they do as little as possible.

biopsies aren't always so accurate, even if several samples are taken during

the same procedure... that's hit and miss stuff, and if cancer is hit that

can be really really bad.

here's an email i found while cleaning up my Inbox today that says a lot

the current inf/riba tx options pretty much suck... the odds certainly do.

there's better tx coming some day, and it makes no sense to me to keep

tearing up the body trying the same toxic loser drugs over and over.

i know where you're coming from with symptoms dragging you toward being

unable to function. i do painting/wallpaper/carpentry/tile and got to a

point of serious desperation summer '06 when it was all i could do to crawl

colloidal silver and it turned my life around in short order. i've been

fine since. i only regret i didn't start right off hitting it much harder

and heavier with at least a liter per day of CS which might've actually

cleared me. i'm currently finishing month 4 of one liter/day along with

lots of supps & herbs and good food... kind of an experiment to see if i

clear.

the point is the virus can be killed and managed, the liver can be protected

and regenerated, the immune system can be optimized, and life can be good

without wading through hell and putting up with arrogant shitheads looking

down their noses at you while they do as little as possible.

biopsies aren't always so accurate, even if several samples are taken during

Amen Bob,

I am on week 17 just had my interferon shot and taking the ribavirin. My white

count is down to 1.8. I went to the hospital last week in horrible pain due to

my back and I was peeing blood I swore I had a kidney stone. The STUPID BLANKETY

BLANK ER STAFF. Did a drug screen on me before giving me any medications to

relieve my pain. Then after they got the Negative drug screen results I got the

pain medication. What the hell is wrong with people- does not matter if I am

stoned out of my mind I had a kidney stone and I was in horrible pain. Because

they did not see in on the CT skan they called it a UTI- but I saw the stone in

the strainer.

I have been clean for over 5 years and I sure would not go seeking toradol or

morphine if I wanted dope I would just take a skip and hop over to mexico and

get all the cocaine I wanted. But I dont want the stupid thing that caused this

stupid hepatitis C. Sorry I am venting. I guess reba-rage.

I dont want to kill myself but I do wish many days to just go to sleep and not

wake up if this is all there is to living. This treatment is horrible I want to

know what will happen if I stop taking it? Start some colloid anything that will

make this shit feel better.

BLANK ER STAFF. Did a drug screen on me before giving me any medications to

relieve my pain. Then after they got the Negative drug screen results I got the

pain medication. What the hell is wrong with people- does not matter if I am

stoned out of my mind I had a kidney stone and I was in horrible pain. Because

they did not see in on the CT skan they called it a UTI- but I saw the stone in

the strainer.

I have been clean for over 5 years and I sure would not go seeking toradol or

morphine if I wanted dope I would just take a skip and hop over to mexico and

get all the cocaine I wanted. But I dont want the stupid thing that caused this

stupid hepatitis C. Sorry I am venting. I guess reba-rage.

I dont want to kill myself but I do wish many days to just go to sleep and not

wake up if this is all there is to living. This treatment is horrible I want to

know what will happen if I stop taking it? Start some colloid anything that will

make this shit feel better.

hugs and I sure feel for you. I know everytime they call me at home from work

and say how are you feeling I feel like they are just checking up on me to see

if I am out I guess having a party or something. But believe me this is no party

as you and all of us well know.

I am working only 1 day a week mostly volunteering but I am getting so darn

short of breath due to my labs being so messed up. But I guess it could be worse

I could be waiting for a transplant and there be nothing available for me. I am

not there and I have to be thankful for that.

Man I wish the drug companies would come up with a better treatment solution

that is more cost effective Actually that is my prayer.

New to Group

I have already been thru two treatments in the last six years but have never

belonged to a Hepatitis C group. I have chronic Hep C with scarring and fybrosis

and even though my viral count is around 10,000, I continue to feel sick every

single day. I am now 56 years old and it's so hard to get out of bed and keep

going to work. I miss more days now and had to go on Intermittent FMLA so I

don't get pointed and lose my job, which means no insurance. No one around me

seems to understand how I feel and sometimes I feel as though they think I'm

making my sickness up. I guess I need to know there are others out there who

will understand and how serious this disease is.
