Guest guest
she started getting to the point where she was so swollen she could not get out of bed. Then the stiffness and joint pain set in. We saw a pediatric rheumatologist from Cincinnati Children's-and he concluded that she has arthritis in about every joint in her body-from her jaw, neck and spine to her toes. These symptoms are something like what Brittany is experiencing. All her joints swelled up last week and she was in pain. She also had a white hives and red rash, and a flushed face. Her Ped. put her on prednasone. She ended up dehydrating and going in the hospital still swollen rash was better. The hospital took her off the prednasone. The hives returned. The doctor decided to give her her treatment since it was time and when her gave her solomedrol (pretreatment) her rash disappeared like magic! He said it was a high dose. I wonder if it will come back. We have to see a Rheumy also. It scares me because he mentioned Lupus and JRA. Did your daughter have any rashes?? Britt doesn't have fevers at all but she does go up a degree she has been elevated to 98. That's high for her. Her normal temp is 97.3 Same as after IVIG she goes up to 98 degrees. This is just too scary for me! Janet, mom to Brittany CVID age
Guest guest
There are over 100 different types of arthritis and joint conditions. With that number of similar illnesses and diseases to diagnose it would seem almost impossible to find the correct diagnosis that leads the right treatment plan. However, each arthritic condition has specific signs, symptoms and test results. Most of the 100 types have similar arthritis symptoms that point to arthritis disease for both you and the doctor. These arthritis symptoms can be evaluated by you at home so that your first doctors appointment will be effective and they will be able to recommend the correct tests immediately.
