Guest guest
How many shades of green there are in nature. Examining the clouds to see what I can read into them. The feeling of the sun enveloping my body, or the gentle breeze against my skin. The generosity of others. How much my family really does love me, and I them. Anyone else care to chime in? Guest guest
What are some things that your disability has allowed you to appreciate? The hugs, flowers, caring thoughts, prayers, from friends and strangers...and the needs of others with all kinds of disablitites...it is amazing when we are well and living life how easily we ignore those not doing as well as we are... as Wolpe writes: (paraphrasing, and apologies if I botch it!)... it is only when there are cracks in our complacency that prayer can break through i.e. Often It is only when we are found to be imperfect that we can truly love and show compassion and caring for those who are imperfect... That is what my disability has shown and reinforced in me... Guest guest
I haven't posted for a while after having a L4/L5 fusion in early March. After some initial discomfort I'm now so impressed with how much better my back is doing. I've started physical therapy in the pool three times a week and highly recommend it to anyone who is recovering from surgery. I really like this thread and would like to share just a little something of myself with the group. This time of recuperation has given me time to work on my art and this is a drawing I've been working on to help pass the time. Serengeti Afternoon. Very best wishes. Guest guest
Calvin, I would love to see some of your work. It's fantastic that your recuperation has allowed you the time to pursue your artistic endeavors. Being in the water is the closest I feel to " normal " It gives me a sense of freedom that I don't have once gravity comes into play.
