Guest guest
Hi, I'm a newbie here but am happily experimenting with kefir, kombucha, lacto fermented veggies and sourdough breads. I got my first batch of sugar water kefir grains yesterday (not converted milk kefir grains) and have been reading up all about it. I have read over and over again on different websites that after it has finished fermenting you squeeze out the lemon juice and dispose of the fruit (dates in my case) that you added to the sugar water. I was just wondering if anyone knows why you dispose of the dates? My ones look so fat and enticing having soaked in my brew for a couple of days! Am I risking something nasty if I eat them? I do hate to throw things away!!! Barbara
