Guest guest
I'm mainly talking to those who are seriously interested in achieving health and wellness and who try to avoid certain foods while eating other foods in which they believe promotes health and healing. So then, when you are at someone else's house, or at a restaurant what do you eat? And how do you treat these people? First, let me state that I do not want to offend anyone and honestly, I very much dislike me having to talk to people telling them that I cannot eat this, or that I cannot eat that. Still, sometimes it seems I have to. Many times, however, I'd rather eat something that I would normally not want to eat because I do not want to make a big fuss about it. But, I still wanted to eat healthy. Now, when I was Vegan, I think things were a little easier. I would simply tell them that I've been on a strict vegetarian diet and that I have some dietary restrictions. Me choosing to eat eggs (mostly raw, only once or twice a month cooked in an omelet), and raw milk, and me considering the consumption of meat (I'm still a little skeptical about it because I do not want to be too acidic and I'm afraid I might be already without the meat... so someone can help me here if they want), has made things a little more difficult. Because, Dr. Mercola says that commercial eggs are some of the most unhealthy foods we can eat. And that Organic Farm Fresh Eggs are super foods, esp. when raw. And the other thing is, personally, the non organic food just does not taste good and why should I eat something that does not taste good? Sooooooo, when at someone else's house or when traveling over seas, they will ask, " So, you don't eat meat? " Or, " You don't eat eggs? " And my response might have to be something like, " Yeah I eat meat and eggs... I just do not eat YOUR meat and eggs. I've come to know that Organic is best and this junk stuff here is not good tasting or good for you. " But I just have a hard time stomaching that. I really want to be respectful to these people, and their decisions as far as what they want to eat. I have heard it said many times by health nuts that you can eat healthy (according to your own research and experience), at home. And then, while at your friend's you eat whatever they put in front of you (even if that be a Mcs burger or something). But, I see a couple of problems with this. For one, I know people who eat like the above and while they are not at all sick, I'd say that they are not all the healthiest people I've known. And a couple of them have lived what they called a 'healthy' life and then died (or almost died) of cancer, or heart trouble. Then the other problem I have with this is that when you get used to not eating certain foods for a while (like meat for an example, and other foods like white bread, foods with lots of gluten and sugars, etc), then you eat them again... they do not always digest that well. And then sometimes someone is allergic to certain foods too. The other thing is, when at a restaurant, it is often easy to find something that is Vegan and for the most part free from toxic chemicals. But if you ate animal products, it is very hard to be sure that what you're eating is in fact healthy. Let me tell you there's lots of nasty things in most animal products these days. So, do you only go to restaurants that serve only Organic meats....or do you just eat what they have and enjoy it even though the lettuce tastes like cardboard and the tomatoes have no flavor and the meat is not juicy but fried in oil and laden with MSG because it would be nasty otherwise (and personally, I think it is nasty with the MSG). Thank you for your insight. ~
