Guest guest
Hi, Lin here.... my son had his sinus taped when he was about 2 years old. they was very infected. they had to go in up under neath the nose with needles and drain the sinus that way. it worked.....he also at the same time had his tonsils and adnoids takin out too... at the time he had very bad asthma attack during this so he had to go to the icu unit over night.... to be watched.... he was there for 2 days. then moved to regular room. i hope that helped ya somewhat... have a asthma free day lin from pittsburgh pyle456 <coachmac@...> wrote: I am having serious sinus issues. After a week on antibiotics and pred, (not to mention all the inhalers), I have seriously swollen sinuses. My doc says that my turbinates are so swollen that several of them have probably closed in on themselves and I've probably got pockets of infected gunk that can't go anywhere. (Yes, I'm miserable.) Anyway, I go for a CT scan tomorrow and he said I may have to have them drained. Has anyone had such a procedure? If so, please email me about it. Guest guest
YIKES! I'm starting to moan, groan, cry, snivel, say ouch, and assume the fetal position just thinking about this. I have decided I will never need this procedure, LOL Good luck Ron On Oct 11, 2006, at 9:13 PM, no1friend621 wrote: > Hi, Lin here.... > > my son had his sinus taped when he was about 2 years old. > they was very infected. they had to go in up under neath the nose > with needles > and drain the sinus that way. > it worked.....he also at the same time had his tonsils and adnoids > takin out too... > at the time he had very bad asthma attack during this so he had to > go to the icu unit over night.... to be watched.... he was there > for 2 days. then moved to regular room. > i hope that helped ya somewhat... > > have a asthma free day > lin from pittsburgh > > pyle456 <coachmac@...> wrote: > I am having serious sinus issues. Guest guest
Hi Addy, I'm sorry that your sinuses are so clogged. That's absolutely awful. I've been there too many times. Do you think that ragweed season finally caught up with you? I was SO hoping that Xolair would take care of our allergic sinus issues too! You may want to check out the Help Sinuses group. I'm sure that some of the members there have had their sinuses drained, so they may be able to offer some information. helpsinuses/ You might also want to try posting some specific questions to the ENT group. The forum is owned and moderated by Dr. Murray Grossan, and he's very good about answering questions quickly. Of course, he also uses the forum to sell his sinus products, but it doesn't sound like they'll do much good for you right now. earnosethroat/ Best of luck to you! You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Guest guest
Hi Pyle: Yes, I have had my sinuses drained atleast a thousand times. I've been having sinus problems since I was eleven, I'm now 64. It's not a problem and it does help, also, of course, prednisone helps, but I would advice you to have them drained, it will help.
