Wow Kim, what great news!!!!. . . Are they doing studies on LDN or just Naltrexone, do you know? Should be interesting to see what kin of hoops it's going to have to go through before it's officially approved.

Let's keep our fingers crossed!

I think you've made a mistake. Elan are a pharmaceutical company from

Ireland alright. I am from Ireland myself. Elan are the makers of

Antegren and pushing to get it approved as fast as possible to be

used for MS Patients. Elan by the way lost huge shares the last few

years and they are now thriving on this whole Antegren as it's risen

their shares alot again. Pharma is big business at the end of the day.

Naltrexone is already FDA approved but in small doses it's not been

proven by clinical trials for MS or other illnesses , so it wouldn't

make sense that any pharmaceutical company would promote it as such.

However what would be nice would be if a pharmaceutical company

helped trial LDN and hence then they'd be able to market naltrexone

is small doses for MS or other illnesses when a double blind clinical

trial proves the benefits of LDN

You're right , the big in the vain once a month drug. By the way

that's showing some positive results without a lot of side effects so they

say. . . Stay tune I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more on Antegren.

  • 2 years later...

Hello all - great to see all of the new members. I haven't posted

in awhile, but still keep up with the group.

I have been on xolair for three years after a lifelong battle with

asthma. During this time, I have seen steady improvement in my

asthma symptoms, to the point that I no longer carry a rescue

inhaler. I also am able to enjoy a number of activities that were

previously off-limits, or at least would require the frequent use of

proventil.

I saw my allergist recently and had a pulmonary function done. The

remarkable news is that my lower airway function, which had been

steady at about 20%, had actually improved to about 30% since last

year. While this isn't conclusive, I am hoping that this might be

the signal of continued improvement. The remarkable thing about

this was the test was following a weekend of camping with my son

(ie: campfire smoke, moldy tent, etc.).

I doubt I will ever be joining Lance Armstrong in the NYC marathon,

but at least I am able to participate in life.

Hope you are all doing as well.

Greg
