Guest guest
Anni, Both my wife and I beat candida without doing that diet. We used acidophilus supplements, did the galbladder flush, and other things which I don't recall just off the top of my head. Diet may have played a part as we do not eat the Standard American Diet (SAD). But even with our non-SAD diet, we had candida problems until we used lots of acidophilus etc. If you want more details, I can ask Becky (my wife) who will remember better than I what was involved. Ellis Hein kombucha and water kefir on candida diet? Hi, I an going to start a candida diet next week. I am wondering if any of you have any experience weather Kombucha tea and waterkefir is beneficial for candida or not. I keep hearing conflicting opinions and I'm trying to make a decicion. Thanks so much for any imput on this. Anni
Guest guest
Anni, Kombucha is a little iffy for Candida because most people leave a fair amount of sugar in it. If you only brew 8 to 12 days, there's still a lot of sugar BUT I brewed it to vinegar stage (at least 3 weeks) then added a few ounces of that to water kefir and sweetened with stevia. Guest guest
Anni, Sorry, hit send too soon. With water kefir, I use less than 1/2 the called for amount of sugar, then do a 2 to 4 day secondary fermentation after straining the grains. Dom, the kefir guru, said that doing it this way leaves less sugar than in one lemon. For example, 2 cups grains, 12 cups water, usually 1 cup sugar, but I use a heaping 1/4 cup brown sugar and a tablespoonful of molasses.
