Guest guest
hi jeff, i'm not sure that xolair will help your exercise induced asthma (EIA - because i'm too lazy to type it out!!) unless your EIA is somehow connected to allergies. (like me - i used to do some pretty intense mountain biking..not only would my asthma flare from teh exercise but also from the mold, pollen and whatnot found in the mountain biking trails. after xolair, my EIA didn't seem so bad b/c we removed the allergic part of my asthma). do you pre-treat (use albuterol inhaler) before biking or jogging? has your dr been able to weigh in on how to better control your EIA? good luck getting approved! heather jeffruff57 <jruffsr@...> wrote: I am currently going through the process of getting approved for xolair and was wondering if anyone can share their experiences with improvement with exercise induced asthma. Injections, singulair, Qvar, and Foradil keep the seasonal affects in check, but extreme aerobic exercise [bicycling, jogging] brings on asthma attacks. Guest guest
Jeff, I also had exercise induced asthma and I went from not being able to exercise to being able to do 4 miles in an hour pushing two small kids up and down hills in a jogging stroller. I timed myself on each lap and I was getting stronger/faster each time around - amazing. I never expected that type of improvement. jeffruff57 <jruffsr@...> wrote: I am currently going through the process of getting approved for xolair and was wondering if anyone can share their experiences with improvement with exercise induced asthma. Guest guest
Hi : About a year ago, I asked if there were anyone out there that had an antibody test taken, and several people answered saying they had, and the count was low. I was one of them. My immunologist recommended my pulmonologist give me a pneumonia shot, and I should be tested in 6 months. Well it's been 6 months, and my antibodies are down again, and I just got another pneumonia shot. They say it's all right, otherwise I would have to get transfusions. Is there anyone out there in the same boat, or may have info. on this? I would really appreciate. Thanks, Kathy heather <heaven1975@...> wrote: hi jeff, i'm not sure that xolair will help your exercise induced asthma (EIA - because i'm too lazy to type it out!!) unless your EIA is somehow connected to allergies.
