beer kraut

Hi,

A gal from a local list has a problem with kraut smelling and tasting

like beer. I figured there was probably some yeast in the mix somehow

and told her to have it during Oktoberfest <g>. But has anyone here had

such experience? Is there a concern? BTW, I did refer her to the group.

Thank you for any clues,

Deanna

Deanna,

When I first started fermenting in my house, I had pretty darn awful

results. Now that I have Kefir and Kombucha constantly chugging away in my

fermentation corner, I don't seem to have issues. I think it may have

something to do with the bacterial balance of the house.

Another thing to consider is if someone is brewing beer in the house - where

is it being stored in relation to the kraut?
