a: yes you can use the grains to make coconut kefir! You may have to

put then into some milk from time to time to keep th;em healthy but you can

use powdered mild and toss it when done or give it to someone else! I make

coconut kefir with milk grains and it came out fine!

Tibi, Tibicos, Water Kefir Crystals, & Sugary Kefir Grains are all names of

water/juice (nondairy) based consortia. Some of them may or may not

be the same consortia under different names. Milk Kefir Grains which

have been converted to a water/juice media are STILL of dairy origin.

Water Kefir Crystals and Milk Kefir Grains are not the same consortia.

All the above will ferment water/juice media as will sauerkraut and

kimchi microbes.

Thanks, Vona!

Good to know. Now I just need to figure out where to get the kefir

grains. Perhaps I should try the kefir group!

I used to drink kefir every day but honestly never had the grains. I

started with raw milk, inoculated my milk with a friend's kefir, and

then just kept inoculating each successive batch with some kefir from

the previous batch!

I can't wait to make some coconut kefir...

Blessings,

Hi Darrell,

I emailed you a while ago asking about getting the tibicos from you.

Did you get the email? I would still love to get these if you are

still offering. Please email me at services@...

Thank you!
