Guest guest
Hi there, I am still on the hunt for options regarding my need for two hip replacements. I have met a surgeon who considers I may be eligible for " Birmingham Hip Resurfacing " instead of hip replacements. I have trawled the net and found resurfacing is not as successful for women as it is for men and secondly it is only advised for younger more active people. I am 58 now and would have the first one done at age 59 which isn't that young (their sites mention 40's early 50's). They also advertise it's more for the athletic person who has worn out their hips through sport - CERTAINLY not the the case with me. The surgeon who I saw is very experienced with hip resurfacing so I can't ignore his advise at this stage. I have been all over our Group and read all I can about hip replacements. Does anyone at all have anything to offer about hip resurfacing at all please? Kind regards Robyn
