Guest guest
thanks for posting your pics. If I remember right, from an early post, the one pic in the white top you said was in 2004 just as you started noticing flatback And the other was before surgery. So 6 years.I guess my question is what was your road (progression) from '04 to deciding to have surgery...if that question makes any since. Is there anything you would do different, help you would get or is it just a waiting game. I often stand how you are in the pic taken right before surgery. My surgery was in 1977 (c1-L5) I'm 50 yrs old. With effort and stretching I can stand straight...ie bend my knees, tilt my pelvis, straighten my knees and stretch my quads and abs. This is my new PT trick. It does seem to be helping. I've been dealing with increasing pain over the last 10 years, but more recently, I can notice a change, I feel like I'm turning to stone and can't really carry more than a loaf of bread(the heavy loaves ) for more than a few feet. To everyone, thanks for your stories. It helps put context and perspective to things. I am yet to go to a Dr who specializes in aging backs, but all I've learned here has helped me understand and form questions. I would not have even known where to go with out all of your advice. Thanks again for sharing!
