Guest guest
We have a dairy. We had a manufacturing company but sold it and bought the dairy. They already had a guy running it so we are not in the mainstream, thank goodness. We bought it because we thought it was something that would always make a good living. After all, look at all the milk products out there. Anyway without getting on my soapbox I will just say that things are not looking good at this point. But it looks like we are not the only ones struggling so we are just turning it over to God and he will lead us. I will keep you in my prayers. What kind of business do you have? Maybe we ought to get a couple of side cars for your two babies and travel around on our cycles doing ood jobs here and there!! LOL! At least we would be having fun!!! Have a good one and breathe!!! It will help everything look better!!! Love, Re: Prayer request C Hi Liz, I'm so sorry it took so long to get back to you. I have been pretty busy around here now that mom is not driving and seems I don't have much time for the computer!! I miss being here. I'm glad you're doing ok with in school and having time to spend with Steve although I know you and he would both prefer he get the job he wants. My heart broke when I read your letter and I pray our good Lord will intervene with a better job for Steve and another little one for you to babysit. I wish I was there to help you. I feel so helpless. There are so many people out of work right now and it is getting pretty scary. We are in real grave danger of losing our business. If that happens we will have to sell our home and move elsewhere and start over. That is not always easy to do when you are our age but I told Ron the other night that no matter what happens we are together and somehow we will make it through. Well now on a much better note, they are starting construction later this month on moms little efficiency. My sister has her guest room in her house fixed up so nice with all moms personal things and it looks so great. I told her the other day that if I was mom I wouldn't budge!! she's got it pretty good right where she is!!!! My brother in law said that would be just fine with him, they realy like having her there with them. But my mom is of the belief that they need their own space and she needs hers too so here we go again. We will probably move her in in Dec sometime. I will keep you and Steve in my prayers dear one. Love you, Hi , I'm amazingly fine with at school. In fact I'm enjoying my quiet mornings right now. It's just me and Steve here between 9 and 11:30 AM. I lost the little girl that I was babysitting, so Steve and I both are out of a job. :-( Steve's still iffy about taking the job at that company that pays half or less of his last job. He had an interview last Fri. and is suppose to give them an answer tomorrow. This job pays between 9 and 13 dollars an hour with no way to move up in the company. It's pretty much a dead end job. Although it does offer a lot of required overtime. Which means that Steve will leave at 7 AM and get home at 7 PM. They only offer insurance on him and not the family. If he takes it, it will leave him very little opportunity for applying and interviewing for other jobs and of course the time that he'll be away from us. So if you could pray for him about the decision. I'm glad that your mom is getting settled. How long do you think it will be before her new place is ready? How's she feeling? Love ya!!!! This time it will be just across the patio so shouldn't be too bad. How are you adjusting with little in school? I remember how traumatic it was when mine went for the first time. How about Steve? I'm sorry I have been so negligent with keeping up. It seems like everything here happened at once and is all consuming. Have a wonderful day you little workout machine you!!!! Guest guest
Hey ! Whoa, girlfriend!!! You have your revision actually scheduled, and you didnt tell us!!!????!!!! I know that I am soooo hoping that you have a spectacularly wonderful surgery and recovery. I am guessing this event will be at UCSF....but who gets the honors of doing the surgery? Will you have a one day, posterior only surgery? Details please! I know its been a long and painful road for you the past few years, here is wishing you (eventually!) a pain free 2011. Guest guest
Thanks Cam. Drs. Hu and Berven will be working together for my surgery (along with a vascular surgeon). The plan is to clip the bottom of my current rods off, and go up one level (L2) to attach the new implants to the old. I'll be fused down to the sacrum, with fixation to the pelvis. Then, they'll flip me over and do an ALIF at L5-S1. I hope my recovery is even close to as miraculous as Kathy's. -- > > Hey ! > > Whoa, girlfriend!!! Guest guest
, Sounds not too far off what I had done. DrRand says that the newer ability to attach old to new implants has really improved...even since my surgery 5 years ago. And not removing anything old will save your body tons of trauma. The anterior portion though....that will not be so much fun. Are you doing this all in one fell swoop (assuming all goes smoothly)? You know how to be a good patient...2 of the best working on you...you will likely have a stellar recovery! Take Care, Cam
Guest guest
, That is an amazing double team! And they will do it all in one surgery, awesome! You know the drill, so I'm sure your recovery will be great. Enjoy the holidays, and good luck with everything. S. p.s. I plan to visit both you and Kathy, so see you then! > > > > Hey ! > > > > Whoa, girlfriend!!! Guest guest
Hi.... Since my first surgery included a very large open thoracotomy, I'm thinking the anterior portion will be a piece of cake by comparison! Yes, it will all be done in a single stage, and should only be 4-5 hours total. -- > > , > > Sounds not too far off what I had done. Guest guest
, Â I was so glad to read that you will be having two excellent surgeons working on you, and finally getting your revision. Â I've been reading like crazy, I've been down for the count with a nasty bug the went directly to my lungs, and to my surprise, WOW, 's having surgery. Â Here my hope for a very successful surgery, and an excellent overall outcome. Guest guest
, As for knowledge and research, you have done enough " due diligence " for all of us, so I suspect you have a tremendous peace about the timing, the operative plan, and team who will be working WITH you for a successful outcome. Congratulations! You have walked so many through this process and given so generously of your time and compassion; it's certainly your time to receive instead of give. I will be praying for you to have sustained peace and the highest of spirits between now and then (which may seem like an eternity from time to time)! With utmost respect and appreciation, kam
Guest guest
Hi , Best of luck with your revision surgery. I'm sure you will actually need very little " luck " wih Drs. Hu and Berven at the head of your team. We'll be thinking of you! Why the vascular surgeon? Bonnie
Guest guest
Bonnie, Not to butt into 's answer...but I think its fairly common to have a vascular surgeon come in for the anterior portion of the surgery to move the major vessels out of the way. I did. It reads kind of funny in the surgical report... " DrP. completed XX and left the operating room not to return.... " ! I suppose if they happen to nick those " puppies " it would be somewhat difficult to locate a vascular surgeon on short notice...and time might be of the essence! Naturally....there could be other reasons... Take Care, Cam
Guest guest
I, too, had a vascular surgeon at the beginning of the anterior surgery. There are a lot of important things in the way of your spine when they access it on that side. An ortho or neurosurgeon can probably do an okay job of moving things around, but it's safest to have a vascular surgeon moving those veins/arteries out of the way. From what I was told, that was the most dangerous part of the surgery! > > Bonnie, > > Not to butt into 's answer...but I think its fairly common to have a vascular surgeon come in for the anterior portion of the surgery to move the major vessels out of the way. Guest guest
Dr. Berven likes to use a vascular surgeon for the ALIF, as there's a relatively large risk of vascular injury. Since I've had 5 prior abdominal surgeries, the scar tissue will make it even more difficult. Thanks, everyone, for the good wishes. -- > > Hi , > > Best of luck with your revision surgery.
