Guest guest
Wow! I have been told that same thing over a million times! We know our own bodies and I have found a wonderful neuro surgeon in Austin, Texas....his name is Dr. Webb, at St. s Hospital. Every doctor i have seen in the past had always commented, your hardware looks great....never bothering to measure the curve, cause they knew I had scoliosis so they knew there would be a curve present. Finally after over ten years of trying to get answers....(my initial surgeon died in a head on car accident in 2002)....no doctors want to touch my spine as they are scared as they are not familar with my instrumentation... (moss-miami) only used from 1994-1998, and mine was placed in 1997. They stopped this style because of massive loss of currection approx 10 years after surgery. Just last week, my new neuro doc did find that the left proximal hook has popped off from then new curve in my thorasic. Man oh man, what we all have to indure! It takes alof of positive thinking to get thru! My heart goes out to each and every one of us! I am always here shoudl you just wanna vent! Kim McGee Austin, TX From: Peggy Greene <jpgunlimited@...>Subject: Re: [ ] Re: hip / Peggy Date: Thursday, December 2, 2010, 6:18 PM I saw the local orthopedist today and he feels all my hip problems are stemming from the toggling screw in the left iliac. He won't evaluate me any further even though I told him I feel it's the muscles reacting to the movement, like the tighten up, etc. He told me he will let Dr. Hey deal with it. I have a feeling that Dr. Hey will say there is nothing wrong with the hardware and just send me back to the pain clinic. I don't want pain meds because I feel this can be solved with some PT!!! I am going to contact my PT friend and ask him if could somehow evaluate me and I just pay out of pocket for the evaluation. I really feel that he or a massage therapist could figure out exactly what is going on and possibly fix it. Ugh! Peggy [ ] Re: hip / groin / ab / glut pain and diagnosis - the LONG version Hi Kam,I too suffer from hip pain. I had multiple series of xrays done before revision and post revision and nothing has changed. I have DDD, and borderline osteoporosis and my hip "locks up". All I can say to that is thank God for my PT. She works it when I go in. My point is revision did not contribute to my already deteriorated hip situation. Did I have hopes going into revision that it would alleviate the hip pain? sure I did but it only alleviated the pressure caused by my upper torso weight on it. I guess I never talk about it since I already knew the state of my hips and know it hasn't changed. I sincerely hope you find relief. It can be very painful.
