Robin, I am so sorry you are having so much pain!!!! I am considering revision and wonder if you feel you are in more pain than before the surgery. I'd really appreciate hearing. Thank you, Kate

Subject: [ ] 8 month post revision follow up

I saw Dr Rand for 8 month follow up on Thursday the 16th. He gave the ok to use treadmill & stationary bike and almost gave comment to add to PT that had already been ordered by my primary doctor, but decided since I am still complaining so much of pain to wait and get a CT Scan to make sure the fusion is healing ok. I am waiting for authorization & appointment for CT Scan. Everything is on hold until the results are back and I get to converse with Dr Rand.

Robin,

It is so good to hear from you. You haven't been posting in the flatback forum for a good while, so I assumed all was going well for you. I'm sorry you are still having a lot of pain. What exactly is causing your pain? Are you walking daily?

I am progressing, but am constantly concerned that I will mess up the fusion. My three month check up went fine as you know, but I am able to do so much now, that I wonder if I am being careful enough with my BLTs. My main problem now is my feet. Since the surgery, all the structure is totally changed and it has affected my right foot especially. I bought some wonderful imported shoes, but needed to take them back in for some slight corrections here and there. They actually took away my foot pain. Now if I can only get some relief from my restless legs! I still struggle with that a lot!

In another week or so, Bill and I will be the official babysitters for our grandson, , on Mondays and Tuesdays for a few months. I plan on returning to tutoring in the spring semester. I tutor privately one hour a week and that helps, but I could sure use the extra money tutoring at the college brings. The grandchildren are wonderful and doing well. I don't get to hold them except in my lap. I guess I will really just be the support for Grandpa who will do all the work!

Let me know how things are going for you.

Love,

Tyra
