Patty,

Hang in there, like Barbara said a few days to a few weeks for the

Lexapro...sending a prayer your way.

Hi, Patty. Boy do I understand that. I was diagnosed with the same thing

initially.

You should begin to feel a bit better anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

If you're having increased anxiety due to the Lex (alot of people do when they

first start it or increase their dose) talk to your doctor about something to

help you til some of the sides ease off.

Hi...Just started on 10 mg. Lexapro(Nov.16) for severe anxiety and

moderate depression. Was wondering how long before I will feel some

relief. I would really appreciate some positive feedback cause I am in

sooo much need of support...Thanks Patty

Patty,

Likewise for me in saying just hang in there a little longer. Sometimes

people feel anxiety over taking medicine thinking about all the things that

don't ever happen like what is it going to do, etc i.e fear.

So just hang in there you can get Xanax or Klonopin temporally if you need it.

Take a bath, and try to be good to yourself.

I started on 20 mg and felt it right away. It takes 2-4 weeks for it to reach

peak level. I'm the best I have ever been despite the fact that I have tried

virtually every antidepressant out there with not much relief in my

depression.Sue CFrom: pattymw49 [mailto: pattymw49@...]To:

Hey Patty - hang in. You can do it. I was a slow starter a full three

months before I really had any stability. There were little patches of

ok in there, but a full 12 weeks for me. It is worth the wait.

Exercise is a vital supplement for me.

Hi Tamra,

I'm sorry you are feeling so terribly. It looks like you are going

way to fast on the coconut oil. You should probably cut down to just

1/2 tsp 3 x/day. You can increase this after 5 days if you are able

to tolerate the die-off from that amount.

There is no need to give yourself such severe die-off reactions. More

is not better. Please just go slowly. While you can't completely

avoid die-off, you don't need to suffer so intensely, either.

You can still eat a few raw veggies if it is not upsetting your

stomach, but in general, it's best to eat slow-cooked veggies since

they are easier to digest.

Hope you're feeling better soon,

Hello..I was feeling terrible too , and what helped me lot is to drink

more water, so as to help the toxins go away. I thought it was a

placebo, but no! it is much help.

I think that you will find great help if you read Bee's files for

treating die off symptoms.

+++Hi Marisa. When you say drink more water, how much is that a day?

Hello Bee.

Usually I drink 6-8 glasses of water during the day. When I started

feeling terrible, I pushed my self to drink 3-4 glasses within 20

minutes, so as to make it more urgent to go to the bathroom. I found

this was a major help, flashing toxins out of my body every time.

I've found out this trick when I had gluten accidents and it is

working perfectly, at least for me. Hope for everybody.

Hi All,

Thought I'd speak up since I've been lurking as a new member for the last couple

of days. I can't tell you how thankful I am to be part of this group now. I've

been fighting this battle for years and I'm TIRED.

I was diagnosed with scoli in Nov '79 and had surgery for my 'S' curve in Jan

'80 at ish Rite in Atlanta. The last 2 disks were the only ones not fused

except for my neck and the very top. we found out in the early 90's that L4-L5

was stressing but I managed to hang on until Jan 02 when it began tearing and

causing tremendous pain. Finally, had it fused in 07 and had about 8 months of

feeling like I had been given a second chance at life. Then the pain began

again.

Went back to my surgeon here in the fall of 08 and found that L5-S1 was bulging.

The pain was contstant and intense with frequent spasms during the night

everytime I moved. Went through what pain managment I was a cand for but it did

no good. Pretty sad when the pain dr says he can't help. I also could no longer

stand up again but was bent like a 90 year old like before the 07 surgery. I

also began fighting severe depression.

Finally, saw a new ortho here this past spring. He took one look at me and told

me I had Flatback and referred me to Dr. Horton at Emory.

Pain has continued to intensify. I'm now on Fentanyl patches and numerous other

things including either percoset or vicodin each day.

Saw Dr. H in July and had mylegram in August. It showed that the disk was no

longer bulging. It had TOTALLY disintegrated and the vert had slipped. It also

showed that the 07 fusion had never healed. I'm having stage 1 Nov 17th and

stage 2 Nov 19th.

Well, that's my story. Thanks for listening. I'm very tired from the constant

pain and I'm worn down from huge amounts of medicine I've taken for so long and

all the stresses associated with chronic pain. I think more than anything it's

just comforting to know that there are others who REALLY understand.

Thanks,

Cindi A
