Cam, Thanks somuch for thinking of me. Dr. Shaffrey looks interesting. I'm impressed that he's certified in both neuro and ortho. No mean feat! I really appreciate the info and encouragement. Best, Kate

Kate,Sorry I havent gotten around to welcoming to the group, but I see that you have already had a warm welcome!Just doing a quick search on another topic and I saw s post Message #29948 and thought of you. She was quite impressed with Dr. Shaffrey (University of Virginia) who presented a paper at a recent spine conference she was at. He is certified in both orthopaedic and neurosurgery. It seems that a significant percentage of his practice is deformity revision surgery. He might be worth researching more. Perhaps can point us to more information too.I dont know of any member that has had surgery with him, but if after seeing him you wanted more corroborating patients my guess is they will be able to refer you to some.Anyway, this journey usually requires a bit of digging to find the right specialists to consult and I thought it worth mentioning this doctor for you to look in to as he is a bit closer to NC than some.Let us know how things go.Take Care, Cam
