Well, if it isn't the escapee! I am thrilled to see you posting again and so

quickly, Marta. Congratulations on the flat tummy, flat mons -- being flat,

flat, flat is so unimaginable to me!

Now time for the answers to some questions. Since my panni is fairly small,

but I have an ugly upper abdomen (mostly from hernia, I think), does the tt

cover the upper abs too? I have been curious about this for a while, so I guess

it is time to ask. I won't have lost all my weight, like you did, Marta (it

is going so slow now), so how adversely do you think this will affect my

results?

How is the belly button? Did you lost it or keep it? Enquiring minds want

to know!

I am so happy for you, Marta, and I can't wait until you do show and tell

with photos!

Hugs and blessings, Ann

, does the tt

> cover the upper abs too?

You need to communicate with DR.K or any surgeon, all of your

concerns. If you have a hernia up there, then there will be some

cutting up there. There can be loose skin left behind after a

hernia repair so make sure you discuss it with him. I had a simple

hernia repair four yrs ago adn they left loose skin.

I think the more weight you lose the better the outcome. THe is my

opinion as a bystander.

I no longer have a belly button, but he says he made me a pseudo

button, haven't really seen it yet. I won't mind, whatever is there.

Cinda, it is a tough surgery due to the extensive work done, but I

am bouncing back very quickly. Hate having balls, though. Yuck!

And my back aches from sleeping in the chair and from walking

hunched over. The usual, yada yada yada.

Yeah balls are no fun but just think how beautiful your tummy is

gonna look! I'm so happy for you and jealous at the same time! ;)

Your time will come, Cinda. It is tough enough to make me rethink

how much I want done. I am recovering at light speed, though! It

is just hard for a couple days. I have this problem with nausea.

Don't know why, but I just do. Good thing I had leftover

metaclopramide in my medicine cabinet and was able to get more today

at Costco.

Hi Marta,

Mike saw a program on Plastic Surgery yesterday while I was out, and

told me that I cant have anymore! lol He watched how these people

were addicted to these surgeries and more wasnt enough...kinda scary-

well it scared Mike. I told him that anyone who would be addicted to

that much pain has other issues...lol

But I can see where it would be addicting in the way that when one

place looks good it makes other places look worse...and so it

starts...

I do want to have my one leg fixed tho- It is bothering me

physically- but will wait for the year like the good drs said. I am

just not happy with it at all.

Cheryl, congratulations! You made it. That must have been some bad trip you

were on after op. #2! My dad said he had post-op hallucinations in which the

frame bed he was on was the machine they use to lower a casket into a grave!

Also supposed scenes of the after-life. I don't think it's hard to understand

why you had such an experience, but I'm really sorry to hear you had it so hard!

If you're going to be in the area around April 8, then that's definitely the

time for our Legal Seafoods gathering. How about it, Boston Feisties?!

I'm home!

Dear Feisties,

I am finally HOME and very happy to be here. I literally walked in my

front door from Boston at 3:30 and have been trying to at least skim

some of the 600 posts that have been posted since I went in for

surgery. I only have a few good minutes left tonight, so I will make

this brief, but hope to send more info over the next few days.

- Stage One on 2/17 went very well, although I did get nauseated from

the anesthesia and pain meds.

- It was truly a pleasure to meet up with some of the Northeast

Feisty Contingency on my birthday. It meant so much to me to have you

all come to see me. You can count me in for that Legal Seafood

luncheon. I will be going back for a follow-up visit on April 8th (I

think). My ex-sister-in-law lives in New Hampshire, so I could always

stay at her house.

- Stage Two on 2/24 went fine physically, but psychologically I went

on a major reality bender! You must have caught me at a good moment,

Corina, and I'm glad you did. I suffered a COMPLETE psychotic break

at some point following that surgery. I'm not sure what brought it on

(gee, stress, surgery, meds...nope, no idea), but it was probably

exacerbated by the switch in meds from the first time to reduce my

nausea. All I know is that I was so deeply enmeshed in alternate

realities that all of the staff, from aides to the psychologist to

Dr. Rand, were worried I might not come out of it. I spent twice the

time in ICU and never even made it to Rehab because they wanted to

keep a close eye on me. I kept getting out of bed to try to escape

and one of those times I fell flat on my face; gave myself one heck

of a goose-egg. The poor staff rushed me out for x-rays etc. and

thank goodness everything was OK. Rand must do some incredible work

to be able to withstand a fall at 2-3 days post op with no more that

a goose-egg!! Some time in the next few weeks I'll post more details

about what happened, but for now I'll just say I went through 5 or 6

different realities over 2 weeks, the first of which was like Fear

Factor, but real and included the belief that the hospital was a

front for snuff films. 'Nough said, except I will praise the patience

and skill of the NEBH staff til the day I die. Those folks saved my

life!

Goodnight for now, all my feisty friends. Without you I would have

felt so all alone. Thank you.

Dear Carol, I was very interested to hear about your break with reality. I have

been through 4 lami's & 2 fusions, and nothing like this ever happened to me

except when I had the 2nd fusion. I truly thought that I was NOT in a hospital &

that these people wanted to hurt me, I was very paranoid & even called my

husband to come get me out of there at 3am, I kept telling him it was not a

hospital. Thankfully by the next day I had come out of it, but as you said it

truly is a frightening experience. You are the only person besides myself that I

know it happened to. So glad you are home & on the mend, I am just starting the

long road to surgery. I have an appointment with DR Boachie in June & when I

called Dr Rands office & asked if they knew anyone closer, they gave me the name

of a dr that Dr Rand trained personally, his name is Dr. Banko MD & he

has opened The Neck & Spine Center in Wyomissing PA. Dr Rands office said he is

an excelent surgeon & operates the same way Dr Rand does. By the way, did you

have a Stealth Cat Scan? I have been reading posts about them since

went to Dr Ondra.

Take Very Good Care

Gentle Hugs,

Diane B

I've been home about 20 hrs. Had a lot of back pain in hospital.

Unable to sleep. Then came stomach pains. Mylanta took care of the

latter. Heating pad took care of the back pain (from being rear-ended).

My alien baby, Blethroid, was delivered successfully. Think his middle

name is wire-mesh. Darn drains leak all over the place, but that's par

for the course. Also used heating pad on abdomen. Taking pain pills

right on time. Didn't get the baby's weight. (not important to me)

Dr K says he can flip a quarter on my tummy! I'm doing just great!

Thank you for your prayers. They did work. my fear was gone, and it

was especially nice that they had to rush me into surgery, as they'd

finished the prior patients early. So slam bam, thank you mam, and I

was in the OR. Thanks for your calls and cards and loving care.

Bobbe, my friend, welcome home! And a quarter-bouncing-tummy too boot!

Great.

I came to see you Wednesday, but you were sound asleep or doing a great fake

job. :-( Will be grand to see you and your flat front, too.

Hi Bobbe!

Congratulations on the successful delivery of Blethroid! I'm glad you are

home and doing well (aren't the drains such a pain with their leaking)?!!!

Don't be flipping coins too soon, though! LOL

Hi Sam,

I'm delighted to hear you're home from your surgery. I'm also glad

to hear it went well and you're only experiencing minor pains. Take

care and rest well. You'll be ready for your hookup before you know
