Guest guest
Hello group, I just wanted to share as my surgeries are coming soon... My info (as I do not post often): Fusion w/ H. Rod T10-L5 in 1980 Will have flatback correction surgery, Anterior stage on Jan. 26th, Posterior on the 28th -- Dr. Hu @ UCSF I had my pre-op appointments recently and all came together. In the appt. with the orthotics, I learned that I will be fitted with a custom made brace. They will create a mold in the morning (following surgery #2) and I will have the brace in the afternoon. I can pick a color and/or a pattern for it. Might as well cheer it up! The appt. with Dr. Hu was very informative as usual. We discussed many things, including having a talk about why I'm going forward now vs. later. At the end, I felt 100% that I'm making the right decision. And then I was really emotional for the rest of the day but at peace. Now, I finished doing the autologous blood donations. I also bought the Successful Surgery CD that has been suggested in this group. I figure it does not hurt, and the music is very soothing -- so I have it on my iPod. I think that I'm ready! thank you, SF Bay Area
