hi Barb, I was born with a fractured spine, over the years as I grew up I was a

bit too athletic for my own good. Although, I do not regret it, i had a great

time with sports. Then in 1994 I had my first spine surgery, the surgeon cut

major nerves by accident, in the following years i had four more surgeries that

are considered failed. I spend part time in a wheel chair. Arthritis and scar

tissue set in so heavily that on normal x-rays it looks like a white tornado up

my spine so heavily the bones are almost not visible. Because of this no

physical therapist can get to the shrunk sciatica nerve.

I am an artist and have always been an artist i have carpal tunnel in both

hands. yes i am diabetes type 2, my soul mate also has diabetes but she has

juvenile type diabetes type 1. At one time i had what is called spondothesis

now is called degenerative spine disease. basically my spine is slowly

crumbling. Methadone I was on for a time but it messed with my heart in a very

bad way. my heart would stop then start and it would jerk me out of bed. it

took months to get off of it.

Now I am on morphine 180 mg a day with morphine ir 15 mg if i need it, i usually

don't need it. I created a very strong pain cream that works equal to the 15 mg

and heals other skin problems. The doctors tell me i may be a young age of 53

in years of birth but because of my illnesses in my body i am more like 70. I

look young enough but there are days when the pain is out of control when i feel

very old. Our pain cream and moist heat helps so very much, I would hate to

even try to live without these two things.

Our pain doctor buys it from us and calls it our magic potion, we all laugh, i

said not magic just ingredients that the great earth gives to us all. so, if is

magic, it would be earth magic. (smile and wink) We use aromatherapy and

crystal energies together for our cream. I believe in both the western medicine

and doctors plus holistic ideals and formulas. This middle roads allows us to

obtain the best of both worlds. So barb, what about you? I would love to know

more about you as well.

Blessings, Love, & Light,

L. Kaiser

I know what you mean. I am 45, look okay on the outside for someone 45, feel

about 85 most days! haha I too had problems at birth, did things I shouldn't

over the years, and now I am paying for it and will for the rest of my days. I

am on the methadone having stepped down from fentanyl. I was on the morphine

before my last surgery which was June of last year. I'm glad you have found

something that works for your pain! That's great.

Have a good day!

Hi Friends,

I also know what you mean. I'm 32, I've had a lumbar fusion, have three

herniation's in my cervical spine and am going in for an MRI for the

thoracic spine next week. I'm sure they will find more there. I look

perfectly normal, and yet on the inside I'm falling apart. My job is hosting

a walk/run this weekend. Everyone is asking why I didn't sign up. I just

told them I had plans. I can hardly get up from my desk! I'm just happy I

can still work. I've got my desk set up like the Houston space control

center, with all of my props and gadgets. I get strange looks, but hey, I'm

getting the work done with minimal discomfort.

Right now I'm off of all pain medications. I had a strange reaction to

ibuprofen and swelled up like a balloon. My blood pressure went up to 170 .

It was horrible. I was on cymbalta for 6 years, and the side effects just

about killed me. It's a wonder my family still keeps me around. I've been on

and off of every pain medication known to man, and I'm done. (I say that,

but really I'm not.) I'm doing a total body cleanse right now, wheatgrass,

juicing, the whole nine yards... Acupuncture has worked well for me over the

years. It has helped almost get rid of my migraines.

Why isn't there a " Spinal Cord Damage Awareness " month? Or maybe there is? I

need a T-Shirt that says " Please don't bump into me, I might never recover

from the impact. " Seriously.

I always wonder, if my body feels this bad now, at 32. What am I going to

feel like when I'm 82? It haunts me. Hopefully by then we will all have

bionic spines!

Lori
