Guest guest
Went back to work on Monday. My job wants a 40 hour week or nothing. My 3 level cervical fusion was done on May 10.I also have a herniated extruded disc at t10. I can't and won't do injections.I sit at a computer all day. My pain level has gone through the roof.Hurts in the middle of my shoulder blades around to my rib cage area, also burns about 3 inches below my armpits.Muscle spasms are also worse. They were getting better before I went back to work.My surgeon didn't give me any muscle relaxers. The hydrocodone isn't helping much.I could have stayed on disability but would have lost my health insurance unless I went to Cobra which I can't afford. Are there any other injections (besides steroid) or procedures I should look into for the t10 issue? I feel a great deal of the pain is from that area.Don't know if I can do this desk job,it is so painful.Depressed.I just want to work, but what the heck can a Nurse with a neck and back issues do? My Doc was sure I could do the desk work, but I'm not sure.I don't know how to tell my Director, that it may not work out.I do much better if I'm up and moving, sitting is a killer. One of the PT's at work suggested isometric excercises and going back into the miamai j collar while I'm at the computer.I want to cry.I'm coming to the realization that once the back pain starts,it's there, always,no matter whst we do.Sorry to be so negative.I can't enjoy my weekend for thinking about work on Monday ad the how bad the pain will be.Suzy
