Guest guest Posted July 25, 2006 Report Share Posted July 25, 2006 Hi I'm Becki.I've been on xolair off and on for 2yrs.I have severe asthma triggered by resp.infections,stress and allergies.I've spent alot of time on oral,inhaled and IV steroids during the last 3yrs.The side effects(that the drs. don't mention)have cost me half a lung, a vertebral disc,part of my L2 & L3 vertebrae,and a damaged trach-at least it still works!The latest was an inch of my radius bone.I had a hairline fracture-instead of healing the bone dissolved.My doctors tell me I can't take steroids anymore,so I guess I just won't breathe during my next attack.Xolair is my last hope. So far so good,I haven't used my nebulizer since Feb.I'm off pulmacort(neb),and advair.Hopefully,with the Xolair, I just have to avoid stress and colds;I'll be fine.As of now it's working and I'm very happy.My IgE went from 553 to 64.Most people don't understand all this,I'm hopeful I can find someone to talk to in this group---Becki Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
