Guest guest
Yippee! One shot down, many more to go! Things went well overall, but my throat and mouth symptoms (swelling- type sensations) flared up for about an hour after the shot. I envisioned the Xolair attacking all the evil little allergy monsters...let's hope that's what it was! Has anyone had their asthma flare up within minutes of their first shot? I'm sure my body is just doing weird things as usual! I'm also feeling a little fatigued and my stomach burns a little tonight, but again, I doubt it's the Xolair. Any thoughts? Thanks again for all your encouragement! I hope Xolair works for me like it has for many of you! , 32, Louisville

We all know that the jitters means being nervous and in some people that causes physical reactions, especially asthma. The only reaction I can ever remember is that I had some itching all over my body after a few weeks. I consulted my doctor and he said that it was the Niacin I was taking as a vitamin suppliment and not the Xolair. He was right. I can't wait to hear your post about xolair is woking for you. It might take a few weeks, it might take up to a full year like me but you WILL post a report like that YIPPIEEEEEEEEEEEE Doug
Guest guest
, I felt somewhat lightheaded and itchy after my first few shots. Also had flu-like symptoms the first three or four times. After that, it's been mostly okay. Best of luck. Meryl > Yippee! Guest guest
So far so good for me. I had my first shot on Wednesday. I have noticed a dry mouth--but then I have this occasionally anyway. I have been downing the water and other liquids. I am trying not to look for " reactions " to the shot! So far, so good. But I know others have had some reactions, albeit mild and short term. Guest guest
Meryl - I felt lightheaded for awhile too, but it got better after awhile. I know that you and I tend to fall in the " extremely reactive " group when it comes to any type of medication! I wouldn't put it past my body to find some new, unknown side effects of Xolair! I wish I could chalk up my experience to nerves or me just looking for side effects, but the flare-up was pretty intense and disconcerting for about an hour after the shot. I don't have asthma, just the throat and mouth problems, which is what flared. I'm just thankful it got better and that I didn't have a major allergic reaction! Doug - I can't wait to make that VICTORY post either! Now I just have to sit back and wait. Thanks everyone! > > , > > I felt somewhat lightheaded and itchy after my first few shots. Guest guest
Adah, The first 2 shots were scary I would feel my throat swell and my mouth would itch really bad. This has not happened after the first 2. The only side effect that has stayed with me is the light headedness but it is only mild. Trust me it is worth it to breathe better most of the time. I am on the evil candy again but it is due to the humidity. Guest guest
I am so sorry that you are having difficulty and have to take the evil candy. I am glad that the shots do help you. I didn't mean to imply at all that there were not side effects from the shot. I know there are for some people and I also know that side effects do go away often with time. I also know that putting up with the side effects is worth being able to breathe! How long have you been on the shots? Hope you get to feeling better fast and can get off of the evil candy.
