Guest guest Posted November 5, 2009 Report Share Posted November 5, 2009 Hi, I mentioned in a previous post that I'm a yoga teacher almost 3 mos. post ACDF C5-6. I'm hoping to find other active / athletic types out there who've been through this. I'm curious about what you've been told by doctors in regard to physical restrictions and recovery time. My ortho surgeon said he sends NFL players back to the field after single-level fusion, but freaked a little when I showed him pictures of yoga postures - and not just the 'pretzely' or inverted ones. I do (did) a lot of weight-bearing on upper body, deep spinal flexion (backbends), extension (forward folds) and twists. SO, is vigorous practice gone for good?
