Guest guest
Dear Peggy, I'm sorry you're here, due to HCV, but we're glad to have you to support, encourage, and listen to. I contracted my HCV through IV Drug use last year. I was put on 3mmu's of Intron A 3x's weekly and was a nonresponder. I get my Genotype results back on Feb. 9th. I have to pass a Psych evaluation prior to my current Hepatologist prescribing the Combo for me. I had a suicide attempt prior to finding out I had HCV and although I was on the Intron A, and didn't go ballistic, this is a new Doctor and he wants to cover his bases so to speak. My biopsy showed minimal scarring (Fibrosis) and my PCR is over 7 million. Closer to 8 actually. I'm not looking forward to going on the Combo either, but am determined to do anything/everything to beat this crap. You take care. Love, Bren
Guest guest
I had to undergo the Pysche test too. Have been on antidepressants for a couple of years and underwent therapy. These definitely helped me! It's a lot to deal with! Hollie
Guest guest
, I like your attitude. Do everything possible to fight this thing. We are the ones that have to live with the slow process of HEP C and the lack of knowledge and or money from the government. I was diagnosed in 1991, and back then, NOONE had much information. I did do the interferon by it self for six months that year, but about 4 or 5 years later, my liver labs elevated again. Unfortunately most people in USA have genotype 1A, which is least likely to respond. Now I am on the combo Rebertron. I have suffered with depression for years, so I am on anti -depressants, and seek therapy. The side affects, for me were horendous the first week, but as time goes on they have lessoned ALOT. I now only have less energy the morning I awake after my shot ( I do it at around 9:00 pm), and cant sleep at night sometimes, I do find I am irritable and moody sometimes too, and have nausea. But like I said they have lessoned ALOT as time has gone on.t I am determined to do my treatment for the whole 48 weeks I planned on in the beginning. I have nothing to loose. Hope everyone sticks in there. There is new findings about other medication that helps now too. Corey

Guest guest
Hi Jim This reached me via the list, not privately. Christel is right--she and I used exactly the same things from Dr. , namely BWT, wormwood, and cloves. If I recall, these 3 items are considerably less than $100, especially if you use the black walnut in capsule form instead of as a tincture. The per-dose price is much cheaper. I've never used clarkia and don't know what it does. As to costs, I did check around a little before ordering from her. If I remember correctly, her son's site sold some things for a bit less. I never ordered from them, though. You can find them under Self Health Resource Center, I think. Not sure of the URL. Karma may sell the same items--you can ask her or go to her site. I didn't know about her site when I started all this. Parasite cleansing was extremely beneficial for me, and I do think it's a great benefit for the body. My understanding is it's not very likely anyone living in this day and age is free of parasites without doing some form of cleansing. An article on that is available at Karma's site, and very informative. Peggy >>don't know if this will get to you privately, but, thanks for responding so quickly. what herbal mixture did you use for the cleanse. did you use that 1/2 litre batch for $100 that she calls clarkia??? do you know of any places to get these mixtures and recipes for less? thanks again, and the best to you. jim>>

Guest guest
hehehe, i totally agree, nathan comes down every morning andand jumps on tthe bed usually or comes in with a blanket over his head(pretending to be a ghost, lol) going " Ake up! ake up! momoomy and/or " mooring mommy " then there is always that quick request for his toast, he signs it and says " oas " oas " or something like that so then i got to tease him a little about pretending to want to sleep some more, lol, it keeps him talking and interacting. hehe, last night i had DH put the kiddies to bed for a change, i always do and i always do the morning routine too, and nahtan came running in( i was watching masterpeice theater on pbs) jumps in my bed and i cover him up, he goes " ahhhhhh " " ni mommy, i ov you, i gave him a big hug, and a few seconds later he goes " nathans bed, come on " I told him dady was doing the story tonight better hurry he will beat you up there( the boys often race to their rooms, it makes going to bed fun for them) He goes " alll right , oook " and then i heard hubby go on marks get set go! and they all ran upstairs but a few secs later my youngest came down he forgot to give me lovies, lol, But it was nice to just relax and watch some tv, i rarely get to do so, and the boys were both asleep quickly too, figures, lol, shawna. Guest guest
Kathy -- I'm experiencing some of that now, too, as Nicolas gets older. It seems that behavior that was " acceptable " when he was a toddler just isn't any more now that he looks like a big boy. My family is in Carmichael (where I grew up, near you...). We visited them last week and my 15-year old nephew was grossed out because Nicolas didn't close his mouth while eating crackers. I'm just thrilled when he eats, especially when he feeds himself, that I'm totally oblivious to how he looks. I try to explain to people that even " baby steps " are a big deal, but nobody really gets it. I get a lot of comments like " he'd talk if you didn't talk for him " , and a lot of people telling me how they raised their children. I have to bite my tongue not to retort " as soon as you have a child like Nicolas, feel free to give me advice. " Anyway, your post made me sad. You'd think at least family would be there for you... My other son, , has friends that make rude remarks behind the scenes - for instance- a couple of weeks ago I dropped a sport bag off for my son, and he was at a close friends' house, and indicated that he had to use the bathroom to me and I told - he took him into his friends house and came back out mad!!!!. He told me not to embarrass him again because his friend said to " Make sure > your brother does not mess-up my bathroom or piss on the floor!! " I have lost respect for for many people in my life. My husbands family is even worse - they are grossed out by and our neighbors (with the > exception of 1 family) will never acknowledge his existence and it makes us sick. > I will never forget the time an adult male and his son spit on while calling him a " retard " a few years > ago. I have noticed lately that because of his noise people are moving away from us at restaurants whereas when he was little people used to beg to sit by us at the restaurant where everyone knew this cute little boy. It is sad to see that. The thing is he wearing so many clothes and no matter how hot it is I can't get him to take them off. When we went to the store today on a hot day he had his sweatshirt hood up and a windbreaker over it. The looks are embarrassing and maddening. Peggy ....I haven't posted in ages because I have had so much going on, but I have Colin, 20 yrs. old with DS and autism and I can really relate to some of the recent postings! Colin tries t9 wear winter clothes all summer and in the winter I literally have to hide his shorts or he will wear them when there is snow on the ground and it's 20 degrees out! I've also found that people used to think he was oh, so cute when he was 5 yrs old and now that he weighs 220 lbs and tries to hug strangers or little kids they freak out!!! He's still the same lovable little guy he always was, just in a different wrapping. :0) BN -------------------------------------------------- Checkout our homepage for information, bookmarks, and photos of our kids. I'm not sure which is worse though. Miss Maddie takes her clothes OFF!! Not her pull up, but everything else. It's not too bothersome now, because she's only 7. Not sure you could get them small enough. If you could they would give some extra padding to the panties yet not be something that she could shred. I can't get him to go where he doesn't want to go at 134 lbs. For the most part he likes to go in the van and it generally de-escalates him but there are times it just isn't going to work. Guest guest
Hi Peggy, Angel is just over 19kg. Whatever that is in pounds??? I flunked out of metric during high school. Thanks for the tip. I would like to find something washable if at all possible. I will try to surf around later and see if some of the disability sites have links to companies that produce a product of this sort for kids. Wow, I can't imagine battling Angel when she is as big as Ray. Sounds like there may need to be another transition plan set for how to get him to school. We are just beginning to work with the school on developing Angel's transtion plans into K. I am going to ask that the aide come here in the school bus and support Angel through the transition to and from school. It would fit into the hours they alot for her work. Just may take a lot of advocating to make happen. We do know that the poor special ed bus driver can't do it alone as the first few days may go great, but once Angel has it all figured out it will fall to pieces. Leaving home is not an easy chore for our kids is it. take care, Cheryl Re: Peggy > In a message dated 9/5/2001 5:08:45 AM EST, cmagnussen@... writes: > > << Panties don't contain things well. Guest guest
Peggy, Just wanted to write a few words to you, I understand what you are going through, my prayers are with you and your family, I hope you find your husband soon and everything is alright. Try to take care of yourself even if you only get liquids in like when we first had the MGB, I know it is very hard and no matter what anybody says it doesn't help. We are all here for you if there is anything at all anyone can do to help just tell us and ask for help....whatever it is. Other than prayers right now I do not know what to say. Please know my thoughts are with you, you were a great help to me with your kind words to me, I wish I could help you now.
