Guest guest
: I am so impressed by your pictures! They look awesome! I have scheduled a consultation with Dr. Hu and see her in April. So nice to hear that your surgery went well. Very encouraging! Sounds like you're feeling better each day. Thanks for the updates. I'm trying to get used to (or find) my new center of balance in my body. I can now truly walk with my feet pointing forward. Something I could never do before (I had a penguin type of walk). It is wonderful! And I try to be watchful not to let those old habits creep back in.... so many years... > > Yes, Cam, the dural-tear repair surgery was nothing, really, compared to everything else (it took a little over an 1hr). It was just a little detour. I now know that dural tears are very common. And for some people, like in my case, they might leak and require surgery to patch up. > > I just uploaded some photos. Guest guest
... At our Monday surgical conference today, everyone was exclaiming about how great your films looked, especially in terms of rotation. Happy healing! -- > > > Hello All, > > Thank you for your good wishes, thoughts and support! > > I'm doing really well and getting stronger every day. Guest guest
, Fantastic photos. I know that a picture doesnt reveal and healing or residual pain, but just looking at how balanced over your pelvis you are now just HAS to take a tremendous strain off your whole body. It really is a bizarre feeling to stand up so tall again after that long, slow dive toward the floor, isnt it? Steady as she goes. Thanks for the pictures. Good healing to you. Take Care, Cam
Guest guest
Hi, . I just had a chance to look at your photos. They are truly an inspiration. Thank you, a thousand times, for sharing them. This has probably come up before, but could you please remind us: where did you have your surgery done? Thanks again, > > > Hello All, > > Thank you for your good wishes, thoughts and support! > > I'm doing really well and getting stronger every day. Guest guest
, Amazing!!!!! You must feel wonderful standing tall!! I dream of the day that I can stand straight. But I have a question for you. How many degrees was your spine off when you had the sugery and what is it now? I am strictly talking side to side. When I went to go see Dr Bridwell he said he could straighten me " north to south, but not east to west. " I am off 68 degrees and if he cannot straighten me at all side to side how odd it will be to have a curve that is not centered. It seems to me most that have had the surgery are more bent over than crooked sideways. I was surprised after all these years finding out that after having a correction to 42 degrees I probably ended up it being 60 degrees in the end (it is 68 degrees at present). I am sure that was with all the settling and after the fusion was solid. I started out with a 72 degree curve. My surgery in 1979 did put me in balance and for years did me well so I should not have to many complaints other than dealing with still being crooked most my life. Guest guest
Hi Annette, Thank you, my healing is going well. I do not know what my scoli curvature was pre surgery in 1980, but it was corrected to about 18 degrees back then. And now, pre-revision, it was about 22 degrees, so it has not changed much through out the years. So yes, the docs did say that I was pretty straight side-to-side. My main issue was truly the flatback/leaning over. > > > > > > Hello All, > > > > Thank you for your good wishes, thoughts and support! > > > > I'm doing really well and getting stronger every day.
