Guest guest
I did have x-rays done of my hips for the yoga vs. osteoporosis study. Nothing was brought to my attention regarding deterioration. Sorry for the delay in my responses. For the past few days I've come home from work and sacked out on the couch. I worked the post office yesterday morning, then went to church to pay bills. When I got home I sacked out on the couch and slept and then went to bed at 8 pm. My fibromyalgia is getting the best of me. Peggy [ ] Re: pondering Peggy, have you had hip x-rays done?I started having a lot of hip pain and found out both hips were shot-bone on bone, had a right total hip replacement on Jan.19th and will have the other done in 3-4 months it's really a shame you have to work in your condition.....Donna >> As I sit here in my recliner with the soft tissue around the pelvic screws obviously irritated again and my piriformis syndrome continuing to act up (since revision) facing the idea of narcotics and injections for the rest of my life, I wonder if it is all worth it. I love working at the post office and I'm getting more hours than expected; probably about 10 hours a week on average. I worked at the post office for 8 hours on Tuesday and I think I got to sit down for about 30 minutes total. Standing, lifting, hip hinging, squatting, walking. I'm still trying to work 20 hours a week at my church and 8 hours for another church. My husband has been unemployed since April and just started receiving his SS retirement. We can't make ends meet on that so I am forced to work. But is it worth it??? Is it going to be worth destroying my SI joints and hip joints to do something I enjoy for the most part? The church jobs can stay because it's sitting at a desk. I envision being able to work 20 years for the post office before I'm at retirement age. But will it be worth when I can probably save my body from wear and tear by being very careful with what I do and do not do. > > I was doing well until I started working about 32 hours a week. The then soft tissue irritation started and the piriformis syndrome was aggravated further. I've had a shot at the screw head a few months ago which seems to have taken care of that for now. I've had 2 shots for the piriformis syndrome and the that knocked it out for a full month. But it came back. I had a shot in my knee 2 weeks ago for swelling and pain. Then a shot a week ago for bursitits in the hip. March 1st I get my 3rd shot for the piriformis. And I'm starting to rely more and more on Norco and Skelaxin. I'm not sure I want to get in this pattern again. I would much rather take it easy but then that doesn't pay the bills. > > Are any of our surgeons starting to do studies on us to see how we do after revision such as which is the next joint to go, etc, or are we pretty much doing our own research here in this group?> > Peggy>
