Guest guest
Hi Kerry, I would be very interested in obtaining copies. I can offer assistance of compiling the pages into a multi-page pdf if that would help or if your scanning software doesn't offer that capability. That way, each publication could be paginated and titled just like the original - easier to email and keep up with. I've been arouond for a while, mainly lurking lately, have had revision surgery, still in " search mode " for a lot of back related issues...as I presume we all are! I also just ordered a companion book from the San Francisco Spine Symposium from 2003 which has a lot of info about saggital imbalance, revision surgery, statistics and outcomes of single Harrington rod patients, etc. Does anybody have that as well? I will be happy to scan anything anybody desires. > Kerry > Seems like info is outdated but still relevent >
Guest guest
. I could use assistance in doing that or I can mail copies the old fashioned way and you can do it, either way, let me know. I will ask my daughter as well, she is a little more computer savvy than I am--if she can help, I'll scan them tonight! Guest guest
Hi Kerry... So as not to elude others, I'd like to point out that BackTalk is only issued about twice a year now. I attended the 2003 Spine Symposium. I think you'll find that there was nothing really new in terms of flatback information. I hope you didn't pay too much for the book. (It's just a spiral bound book of the PowerPoint presentations.) Unfortunately, the quality of the printouts isn't great, but the Case Studies session that Dr. Boachie did was pretty amazing. It's hard for anyone to feel too sorry for themselves when they see patients whose heads are practically resting on their hips! Guest guest
Thanks for the info , I haven't been a member of Scoli Assoc for at least ten years now. I used to receive about 6 Backtalk journals a year, shame that they have limited the editions. I did up my membership for 25 dollars and I believe that I only spent 8 dollars (somewhere close if not accurate) for the symposium book. I found my file of old Backtalks and noticed that the articles I mentioned were not uploaded to the site. As I said, they are old articles but they're still relevent. I know I used to get a lot of info from medscape as well but haven't looked at the site in a while. They had many up to date physician journal articles about flatback, revision surgery, etc. I think I'll take a look because as I said, it has been years since I've checked it out. Once again thanks for the info! Kerry > > > > Also forgot to mention I also have an article titled Sagittal Balance of the Spine and Flat Back Deformity by Dr. Pashman. Guest guest
kerry, If you can scan the articles and post them under Files, it would be helpful. Thanks, C > > > Also forgot to mention I also have an article titled Sagittal Balance of the Spine and Flat Back Deformity by Dr. Pashman. Guest guest
That sounds like the simplest way. I'd really like to read the info. I could even download what you can and put there to consolidate into a multi-page document, like the original...I offered to do that to make for a complete, easy to read document but sometimes my intentions can complicate things! Kerry, my email address is lgross1@... so if you want to email me with your phone no. I'll call to give you my address so you can mail them if you'd like (my home phone is 704-283-8424, I'm in NC, eastern time zone) - and I'll scan/return your originals. As far as print quality and how that translates to readability in digital format - we'll just to try and see how it comes out. There are techniques ... and poor quality is ok for me as long as the words can be read!
