Guest guest
I will be having surgery in October on C5/6 which is herniated. I plan to have the microdiscectomy (which only a small portion of the disc will be removed). I also have degenerative disc, not sure entirely on which levels. My dr explained that if I have fusion, it puts stress on the disc above & below (which could mean more surgery at a later date). From my understanding the surgery should resolve the arm pain & tingling in my hand. However, he couldn't guarantee it would resolve the back pain I feel because the pain could be the result of a tear in the disc, etc. I was very disappointed. Have any of you had this particular procedure and what were your results? In your opinion, are there better options. I just want to think this through before actually having it done. Thanks.
