Guest guest
The way I see it, hair loss is the least of my problems. If I have to put up with fuzz bunnies etc well so be it. I have been pred-dependent since march 2003 so if this is my only side effect of xolair, I have nothing to complain about! This would appear to be my meal ticket off pred (hmm some many pulmos, so few solutions) so I am thanking my lucky stars. We sometimes like to think that there should be no side effects at all from our meds and that when they start, we are being deceived by the drug companies who are out there to hide them. But when I look at the side effect profile of xolair (slim to none) versus the profile of prednisone (um let's not even go there) I think we can safely say which is the lesser of two evils. So while hair loss is unsightly and annoying, it is mild in comparison of what COULD happen to you while on some meds (I am thinking chemo agents etc). So maybe we need to look on the bright side. At least our hair didn't turn green! __________________________________________________________ Find your next car at http://autos..ca
Guest guest
, I agree with you. Although I am very attached to my hair - emotionally as well as literally - I would give it all up to be healthy and on Xolair vs. sick-all-the-time-fat-and-miserable-from- pred-running-out-of-antibiotic-options like I was before. Two things I think we all need to remember: --as we taper off other meds we may find short and long term effects from stopping those meds as well as effects from having used them for so long --our asthma and asthma drug symptoms may have been sufficiently serious to make us not notice the onset of something other than asthma-related disease. For example, now that I'm no longer on pred all the time, that early onset arthritis is sure letting me know that it's there! I doubt there is a whole lot of research on now-healthy-asthma patients and what kinds of problems they had when they no longer needed their drugs. Thanks to Xolair, that opens up a whole new avenue for young med students and researchers, doesn't it? Much love to and for everyone in the group, Addy > > The way I see it, hair loss is the least of my > problems. If I have to put up with fuzz bunnies etc > well so be it.
