Shark Cartilage; the good and the bad

I suffered severe whiplash in 1996. X-rays showed a 1/4 inch

misallignment in the vertabrae between my shoulder blades. Nothing

the Doctors did gave me relief except strong pain killers and that's

no way to live. I tried a shark cartilage, glucosimine and

condroiten, sea cucmber formula (GSX) that has recently changed its

formula, replacing the shark cartilage with bovine (can not

personally vouch for the effectiveness of the new formula. Bluebonnet

claims the bovine is just as effective but green issues seem to be

the guiding force). I experienced dramatic improvement in range of

motion and pain levels dropped dramatically. Over the next 11 years,

whenever I experienced pain that I thought was associated with

connective tissues I would take the casules for a few days. Now for

the bad: I noticed the formation of hard masses in my pelvic area and

scrotum. Invisable to ultra-sound, not painful when squeezed, and

very hard, I suspect cartilage accumulations and possibly the body

can not (doesn't want to?) expell the excess, but stockpiles it. My

urologist (Dr. Exploritory), claimed he could not find a golf ball

sized mass in my scrotum during surgery (invisable to human eyes, as

well?), so I am not rid of it, yet. But, he claims to have biopsied

(???) and found no cancer. Actually, I think he just wanted to do the

operation twice for the insurance money.

IF you decide to try this regimine, I would highly recomend reduced

doseage (3 caps a day with meals recomended by manufacturer; 1 or 2

sufficient, you decide) and limit the length of treatment. Your body

will complain when you stop taking it, whether its after 1 year or 10

years, making you think the healing process is not complete. Again,

use your own judgement.
