Guest guest
I had my first lesioning done in 2002 and two other times that year as well, the third time was to redo the incomplete lesion at c2-3and3-4 bilaterally, no headache. I could've kiised my pm doc then. Versed and fentynal is a fine combination. I don't remember a thing except the last 2 sticks and lesions as I started waking up and that was a bilateral cervical radiofrequency lesioning, that was in 2005 in CO then in UT they gave me only 5mg versed and 75mcg of fentynal and I was climbing off the bed. My pm doc here in VA does such a good job I don't need any sedation. The first time he did it I made him sedate me only 5mg versed and still I didn't feel a thing he was so good at making sure I wasn't feeling anything. I told him he could inject me anytime. he did each side again this year and I didn't take anything and he does not give me a headache afterwards like all the other doctors did. I take ambien at night and an anesthesiologist years ago told me ambien decreases the efficacy of versed. I never had anyone give me propofol except when they did my foot surgery in 7/02. I kept waking up every 3-4 minutes and tried to pull the sheet down in front of me each time. Anesthesiologist there was watching the surgery instead of me, I started squirming before the podiatrist finished the procedure, he came back and asked me if I needed more sedation. I asked how much longer he asked my podiatrist I distinctly remember hearing him say " oh about 30 minutes " He picked up my foot and injected the lateral side of it to take off a bunionette, the local and I screamed. He asked what the hell is going on as I was squirming all over the place. I then told the anestheologist I had to pee and I'd pay him to cath me, then he laughed. I pulled the sheet down in front of me and said " what the hell do you expect after pumping me full of 2L of LR and antibiotics " Then clunk my head hit the pillow the anesthesiologist put me out again. I am a respiratory therapist and had it done at the hospital I worked at then in Albuquerque so I knew propofol cleared the system quickly as all my vented patients were on it. Guest guest
I have 6mm herniation C7-T1 minimal diffuse bulge C6-7 2mm retrolithesis and 4mm herniation c5-6 annular tear C4-5 and this all came about because an 18 wheeler rearended me 11/6/09 going 55 mph and I was at a dead stop, she flipped me over oncoming traffic and I rolled down an embankment. I still don't qualify for surgery as I have no neurological involvement but I was stable for the 10 years prior. The last surgeon who wanted to decompress me in CO I outright refused as he had no explanation for what would happen to the rest of my neck and I explained to him he said oh you know too much and it was a 3mm herniation then 2005. All he could say was we'd cross that bridge if and when it happened. My surgeon in NM wouldn't touch me with a right paracentral herniation. If I moved back to NM he'd have me out of work and flat on my back just as he wanted when I was his patient from 2000-2002, I get the usual too functional too young yada yada doesn't change the fact I am in pain 24-7, 365 for the last ten years and on the same medication since. Yes I still work full time as a respiratory therapist and full duty but in a very small hospital, I don't lift much, amen to that.
Guest guest
Anywhere I have worked uses propofol with the exception of the county hospital I worked at in Denver go figure that's the place I have seen the most alcoholics on the face of the earth. They would only switch to it when they had trouble weaning otherwise it was a fentynal/versed world. One patient we have now they wouldn't use propofol because of the lipids the pt has alcoholic pancreatitis and ARDS drinks 10 pints/day according to the pt intubated now on fentynl/versed combo right now, ggod luck waking him up. Guest guest
the doctor in Denver that did all my pain management procedures wanted to do a transforaminal epidural at c7-t1, I screamed at him and told him if he hit my nerve I'd be flat on my back for 10 days because my pm doc in Albuquerque hit my nerve the very first time he did a procedure on me. It was over the Thanksgiving holiday 2001 I screamed and wouldn't breath till I couldn't feel anything. I had just taken a 2 week vacation in Denver and would've been fired as I had to work the next day, the devil CRNA who was present for the procedure pushed the dose of fentynal and versed so I wouldn't run away as I was halfway off the table and to the door when he said TFE. what choose did I have but get back up when the meds hit he asked me how I felt I said sleepy and heard him say ok she's ready

Guest guest
yes he flattened me for 5 days I still couldn't stand very long when I went back to my light duty job on Monday and it was a busy day in the mailroom because of the holiday. In December he did facet injections sad I used to keep count of all the injections I had including locals, he stuck me 8 x's and I kicked him right in the gut. He asked " what the hell was that for " I told him next time you'll warn me about all the sticks he laughed and set me up to get the other point on the nerve in February 2002 then he was cursing cause he couldn't get the injection pointed where he wanted it he tortured me according to the nurse who was present for the procedure. I agreed and came back in a month and told him it didn't work as well as the first set then he proposed lesioning my spine surgeon tried to stop me because he said I could end up worst off. I asked my pm doc about it and he said the surgeon didn't know anything so I went ahead and scheduled it, of course I had to end up with chronic headaches. I told the pm doctor unless we fix this the surgeon will win the battle of wits, I am worse off. He fixed the problem immediately. Pain management has been a life saver for me but I am about to give up.
