Guest guest
I had lumbar surgery last October, by December I was off pain meds, and doing great. I also have Rheumatoid arthritis, which if you aren't familiar with RA it is a auto-immune disease. RA effects the soft tissues, normally most people are familiar with the damage to joints RA does, but it also can effect all tendon, ligaments, muscles, lungs, hearts (okay all organs), and be just a general pain (lol). Well, I had pain in my groin before the surgery. We had put that down to sciatica, and that thankfully is gone now. Pain in my hip joints however has become increasably unbearable. The MRI shows the usual RA damage to a joint, bone spurs, torn ligamenets, cartiage damage. Just not quite to the point of of needing a hip joint replacement yet. Although if this is a case of the RA doing rapid damage to the hip joints, then he will go ahead and recommend a replacement. He also thought this might be caused by something going on with nerves and from my spine. So anyone else develop increasing problems in other areas after spinal surgery.
