Guest guest
Hi: Does anyone know if a Neuro can tell if a pain pump vs. stim is better for a person? I'm on high meds which, after 12 yrs are doing a number on my breathing, giving me nightmares at times (kinda bad ones that I NEVER had) and effecting both my thought process and sleep... Its time I got off but can't imagine life with even more pain which is still 24/7 sos its time I made a change. By the way, with moving and all (my husband took several diff jobs in diff states and now is with the gov't for the insurance for me anyway; I am now on my 4th pain dr. and frankly they all are in agreement with my status and meds. I've seem some top neuro surgeons at Duke and 3 yrs ago UCLA and was told after a 16 hr surgery I will most likely still be in pain (so why do it?). Anyone have experience with pump (good and bad) and stim (good and bad) they can send to me? I would appreciate the input. Also any feedback on if the Neuro would help me deceide which would be better for me. Thanks in advance and soft hugs to all. Guest guest
The pain pump delivers about a 300 times smaller amount of medication than you have to take orally or by transdermal methods. Since it goes directly into the spinal cavity, very little is needed at the direct location. It will certainly lower your medication needs and amounts. The only one who would know what is best for your body is you. You understand how your body responds to pain unlike anyone else can understand. Do your research, apply the information to your specific type of pain and jump. You won't know until you try > > Hi: > > Does anyone know if a Neuro can tell if a pain pump vs. stim is better for a person?
