biggest is the stress that having a spine injury is putting on my

family. I have since gone back out of work and started with

facet, medial, with RFA...I just couldn't handle the pain. I feel like my

family is going right down the tubes with me...And my husband is losing

his patience.we are headed for counciling but i just want to first of

share with my fustration. I will post more of my condition to

follow..lol thanks that felt so good.....

Welcome to the forum Mic. Good to see you here but said for the

reason. I have been dealing with constant pain for over a year w/o

much medical help. My hubby is holding down a full time job without

overtime and trying to do laundry on the weekends that he doesn't

work. The washer and dryer are down 12 stairs without a rail. I can

see the strain on him. He holds it in so long and then blows big

time. My elderly mom lives with us also. She and I used to argue a

lot and from time to time still do. I try to just agree to disagree.

Sometimes that doesn't even work. Her and I are always tangling our

walkers. There is a lot of tension here and that only makes the pain

worse. It is an endless cycle. I feel that you are taking a very

good step in seeking counseling together as a couple. That is a very

positive action on your parts. My husband wouldn't hear of

counseling. I know that others will come along here with better advice

than I can give. Take care.

  • 7 months later...

Iron is needed for proper thyroid hormone usage. So that may be part of the fatigue. If you can get the thyroid level numbers I would like to know what they are. Many doc's think normal is in the range. It isn't.

This one is $164 and gives you what you need to determine your status.

New to group..

Hello,I came to this site via WAP thyroid forum and listening to Dr Janet Lang about iodine intake. I realized I need to re-visit the possibility of iodine supplementation but I could definitely use this your input.I have had low thyroid symptoms for years but 8 years ago I was diagnosed with anemia and was ALOT more fatigued. I started taking a supplement called Ambertose in 2004 which has all 8 glyco-nutrients. After taking this product for 7-8 months they changed the formula and added fucose (seaweed). both my mother and I formed goiters withing 4 weeks of taking the new formula. I concluded that we got TOO much iodine. I tested negative for Hashi's.As of today I am very anemic (my red blood cells are extremely small and my ferritin level is 3)I receive iron shots weekly. My tsh,t3 and t4 are all normal I don't have the numbers but my ND is sensitive to the true ranges. My ND says iron deficiency does not exist in a vacuum and he is sure that I have other mineral deficiencies but he does not think hair mineral analysis is viable. He has a blood test that he recommends but it's $260 and not covered by insurance. As of this last week I am very low carb and focusing on gut healing. (I have been eating WAP for the last year) I guess I want to start from a place to be sure iodine IS what I need and not overdo it. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.Karin

Thanks so much for looking that up. I read it and am somewhat alarmed that I have felt the sea vegetables were so "pure" - - I'll stick to lugols.

Okay so been trying to read the resources and files, which I’m afraid leaves me with just more questions than I had before.

Here’s where I’m at, and thankfully not nearly so serious as some of you on here.. I sincerely hope everyone finds healing, wow.

All my life I’ve had a lot of hypothyroid symptoms, but whenever I test, the doc says “oh, it’s normalâ€, End of discussion. Meanwhile my body temp consistently runs about a degree too low, sometimes more in winter. My hubby refers to it as a reptilian metabolism. The outer half or so of my eyebrows is very thin, the inner half bushy. I’ve always been chubby, and now that I’m a mom that became outright obese.. I have lost 30 pounds over the last year by doing a lot of healthy eating, but I still have about 40-50 I could lose and those are pretty stubborn. I have a huge issue with fatigue.. My nails and hair have always been pretty fragile, and no, I don’t allow even a hair dryer near my hair. Strictly castile soap (Bronner’s) and air drying, even in winter. I don’t particularly suffer from constipation, but

that’s

the only symptom I don’t have.

About a couple of years ago I started using natural (bioidentical) progesterone to sort out some of my female trouble. It is through that list (Hormone Health NW) that I learned of this list. However for the past 5 months or so my progesterone use has been cut short by shortened periods, see below..

Skip forward to this month, when I have received a diagnosis of a functional 2 cm ovarian cyst. Cysts run in the family, and both my mom and my aunt have lost their womanhood to that, so I’m really anxious to turn things around. I have been doing the progesterone, and I’ll know by next week if that helped.. The other thing I’ve heard was iodine supplementation.

Now some caveats.

I don’t know my iodine status. Would painting a patch on my arm be really helpful for that or is that just too variant?

I am kinda sensitive to stearate fillers in pills.. I much prefer a liquid or transdermal application.

I also have to be sensitive to my husband’s employment situation. We can’t do anything that would make us look like drug criminals, and it sounds like iodine products are controlled as a meth ingredient? What forms of iodine can be bought safely?

Is seaweed supplementation a safe method, and will that be enough for someone like me who doesn’t have anything worse than a cyst? I know I can buy seaweed at lots of local health food and Asian stores and I rather like the Maine Seaweed dulse flakes.

I do suspect bromines as being one of my woes. Okay, I admit it, I’m a carb craver.. I will say that for the past three months I’ve switched to home made full sourdough bread, and that with organic grain. (Nothing but grain, those wonderful microbes, Celtic salt, and water) My municipal water district does not fluoridate. Natural level is .6 ppm. I’m not on any prescription meds, so no halides from that source. I eat as much organic as I can. Does anyone know if bromines are a chemical used in citrus agriculture? This is Riverside , CA and that is the main agricultural use around here.

So sorry this is so long, but hopefully detail on the front end will make it easier for all of you to see my situation clearly.
