Good morning, Prior to surgery, my goal was to walk 2 miles 2times a day and now post surgery, the doc's instructions are to take many short walks in , I am in western Ne so I too go miles to Dr and groc store for more than iceberg lettuce. Lexi the day working from 2xday up to 8xday for a .5 mile per walk. He and his assistants very clearly emphasized the need to make frequent, but short walks for the best recovery. And I'd agree that the professional (we hope with fingers crossed) who works with you would be in the best position to made those recommendations. Unfortunately, we just got 10 " snow, so I'll be waiting for that to melt and the gravel roads to get out of the mud soup stage to get back at it. The PA at the clinic asked if there wasn't a mall I could walk in.... We got a good laugh out of that. We're in the sticks, and a gallon of milk requires a 30 min. drive to a store where iceburg lettuce is the only kind of lettuce they know or want to know.
