Guest guest
Yes I did have muscle tremors. To the point where I looked like a junkie needing a " fix " . Embarrassing to say the least. And the more I tried to keep my hands steady... the worse it got. Mornings were so shaky that I could not write. Baclofen, a drug they give to MS patients, worked for me. Some sort of muscle relaxer. Plus I am on allot of other meds too. As far as pain clinics, they have saved my life. Or at least my sanity. I was taking so many OTC pills that it is a wonder I did not kill myself with aspirin, advil, and tylenol, popping them and trying to just ease the pain do I could sleep. My doc WOULD NOT prescribe anything anything that might of helped me. It was actually a nurse that worked for him that told me about the pain clinic and called to get me an appt.... I was leaving his clinic that day with tears running down my face. Couldn't stop them... felt like my life was pretty much over... Pain clinic has been awesome. At least the one I am going to is. Can't say enough good things about them. in NH HAS ANYONE HAD ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS OR PROBLEMS HAS ANYONE HAD ANY OF THESE SYMPTONS OR PROBLEMS. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING TREMORS IN MY HANDS PREDOMINANTLY IN THE RIGHT HAND. IF I AM HOLDING A CUP OF COFFEE MY HAND WILL SHAKE SO BAD THE COFFEE SPILLS. I AM HAVING NUMBNESS IN BOTH HANDS AND CANNOT KEEP MY RIGHT HAND STEADY WHEN I AM USING THE MOUSE FOR MY COMPUTER. THE ORTHOPEDIC DOCTOR TELLS ME THAT IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY SPINE. I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH SPINAL STENOSIS, FACET ARTHROPATHY AND DEXTROSCOLIOSIS AND DEGENERATIVE DISC DISEASE. THE HAND TREMORS HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR CLOSE TO A YEAR, AND STARTED AFTER I MY NECK BEGAN GIVING ME PROBLEMS AND I HAD NO SENSATION IN THE AREA BELOW THE HAIRLINE AT THE BASE OF MY NECK AND A BURNING SENSATION LIKE NERVE PAIN. THESE DOCTORS HERE IN NC ARE SO LEARY OF PRESCRIBING THEIR PATIENTS PAIN MEDS AND REFER YOU TO SOME PAIN CLINIC I WON'T BE LIVING IN THIS STATE LONG. I JUST MOVED HERE AND WILL BE DEPARTING AS SOON AS I CAN AND SAVE UP SOME MONEY. I HATE TO LEAVE AS MY BROTHER GAVE ME A PLACE TO STAY IN HIS GUEST HOUSE ALL I PAY IS $200 FOR UTILITIES AND THE COST OF INTERNET PHONE AND CABLE. Guest guest
Your doctor could be very wrong here. Problems with your neck can most certainly effect your arms and hands. I have a friend who has neck surgery and her right arm is numb most of the time and she has tremors in both hands since before the surgery. The doctor told her it was nerve damage she sustained in the accident that hurt her neck to begin with. Doctors don't know everything and only if they have treated Arachnoiditis patients or people who are experiencing certain symptoms they may say many things but they will never implicate another doctor who might have caused the damage that may have started your problems it a circel and we go around and around until we find the right doctor. Have you researched these symptoms? Do your homework if you haven't already and see if you find something that fits your case. Guest guest
If you can be lucky enough to find the right pain doctor they can make the difference in life adn death sometimes. I know that my pain doctor stopped me from killing myself that's how bad the pain was. I have no pain at all now unless I do something really stupid to make me hurt again. I have been pain free for 8 years now and by the grace of God and my doctor I will never again think of death as a solutation. I have never felt drugged or high or anything but pain relief. I wish everyone could have my doctor he is wonderful. Not jsut because he foundthe right drugs to take away my pain but because he understand this disease Arachnoiditis he is very well versed in the progression I go through and will continue to go through the rest of my life. Guest guest
I have A slipped disc in my spine and my neck & back situation was caused by a 20 " TRUCK SPLIT RIM coming apart while I was inflating the tire.  It struck me in both hands and left knee and catapulted me 20-25' feet.  I landed in a semi-sitting position and injured my back and neck.  I now have a Slipped Disc, benign Hemangioma at T-2, narrowing of spaces between lumbar and vertebrae.  My ® hand is shaking when I attempt to move the mouse pointer.  My physician in Wisconsin sent me to a orthopedic spine specialist and he explained that the condition(s) I had going on with my back were not fixable per surgery.  I have never had any type of surgery on my back or neck.  This has progressed over the last 27 years.  I have had (1) injection and after reading about other's developing arachnoiditis from receiving injections I discontinued getting them. I HAVE MY BAD DAYS WHERE ALL I CANNOT RAISE MY LEGS HIGH ENOUGH TO PUT ON SOCKS BECAUSE OF PAIN AND STIFFNESS. OR IT HURTS MY BACK WHEN I DO DISHES MOVING MY ARMS AND USING MY HANDS CAUSES PAIN IN MY LOWER BACK. Guest guest
Walter can you get on the State's insurance for low income? I believe Lynn lives in NC on another group and she hasn't had a problem with her medication. It sounds like maybe you need to do some physical therapy or something. I know you have seen several doctors for your problem. Have any of them recommended any type of physical therapy or anti-inflammatories? Arthropathy is a type of arthritis that might feel better if you were on anti-inflammatories and not necessarily pain medication. If you could reduce the swelling it could possibly relieve your symptoms or at least improve them to where the tremors would stop and you could feel better. Here is a link for exercises you can do to relieve the discomfort of the cervical spondolysis. http://cervical-spondylosis.com/exercises_for_cervical_spondylosis.htm > > HAS ANYONE HAD ANY OF THESE SYMPTONS OR PROBLEMS. Guest guest
No one is helping me manage my pain I am waiting for my NC ID Card so I can go to the pain clinic in New Bern. I asked the doctor here to refer me to a neurologist that my doctor in wisconsin had referred me to a neurologist and the physician said if you want to see a Neurologist go back to wisconsin and see your primary care doctor who referred you to a Neurologist. Guest guest
If you could stay in one place for a while you might be able to get better care Walter. Guest guest
If you live near the Madison or Milwaukee area go to Advanced Pain Management. Dr. Stauss is who I saw and I was only in Madison for 3 Months as a travel respiratory therapist. His nurse practitioner is a little weird but he is great figured out the source of my back pain and treated me with respect. Kim
