Guest guest
You are in my prayers Doug. I thought you and others might enjoy this reading. I am keeping it close to my heart right now. In Hope, (Geesis Kwe) HOKA HEY! " Hold Fast! There is always more! " Traditional Lakota warriors would shout " Hoka Hey! " to one another as they charged into battle. In the context of battle hoka hey meant, " it is a good day to die. " In his When The Tree Flowered, however, based on his conversations with Lakota Holy Man, Eagle Voice, Nebraska poet, Neihardt, explained the origin of the phrase. Literally translated, hoka hey means " hold fast. There is more! "
Guest guest
Thank you to everyone for your concern and especially your prayers. Three weeks post op and I am recovering pretty well. Doctor said I could drive and go back to work today. I still have pain now and then but he refilled my Rx of codiene tablets. I only had to take one dosepack of evil candy. I put a picture of my neck helmit (brace) in the picture section. I have to wear it for one more month. My asthma has been very good this year. Exaactly one year ago, I was in the hospital with a Solua (sp) medrol IV in my arm and an oxygen tube in my nose. Thanks to Xolair, I only have to use my rescue inhailre once a day. Thanks again everyone. I am on the road to recovery. Doug Group founder co/owner/moderator

Guest guest
Hi Doug: Glad you are feeling better. I wanted to let you know of my success in being treated for post-op pain by acupuncture. I had a badly fractured wrist and was in so much pain that I couldn't do PT and I was told I would lose the function in my hand if I didn't work harder. But I couldn't, it was too painful. After 1 acupuncture treatment I was able to do PT and recovered so that there is no visible handicap at all. In all, I had 3 acupuncture treatments and have not had any pain or problem since then. Might be worth looking into. Best of luck, Carol
Guest guest
-Thanks Carol I am slowly but surely improving. Today, I didn't have to take any pain medication We have a good Chiropractor who does acupuncture here in our town if I need him. Guest guest
Doug, that's terrific - sounds like you've come a long way. Before you know it, this will all be in the past as are the bad asthma years before Xolair. Best wishes for an accelerated recovery! This year, I only neb once a day in the morning. I use a neb because hand held inhalers do not work for me. Doctor says it has something to do with the propellents in them. Xolar has been a God send for me. I now have disks 4-7 fused. The last MRI showed that disks Thiss means the rest of my disks in my neck are starting to get bad also. I am going to work hard with the physical therapist to keep these disks from going bad with neck exercises after this last surgry completely heals.
