Dear ,

That was quite a post! The story about your business manager is truly

unbelievable--I guess that totally trusting your assets (or yourself for that

matter) to another individual without any oversight is never a good idea.

When we allow others to take over aspects of our life, it may feel like a

relief, but then we lose control over those aspects.

What you said about religion is very powerful and profound, and I hope it

doesn't chase anyone from the group (although I'm afraid it might).

Secularism has never been very popular in the U.S. (many people might feel

that way privately, but few have the courage to profess it openly). It seems

in the U.S. that being religious is equated with being good or moral,

although I personally have never seen the connection. I have many friends

who are good, honest people and are religious, and many who are good, honest

people and athiests. I think how well you " do unto others as you would have

them do unto you " is a true measure of someone's morality, rather than how

strongly you profess to believe in God.

It seems that you have your work cut out for you, and hope that you can get

your business back on track while still continuing your valuable research.

Take care,

AntJoan

I'm sure you are extremely exhausted from your ordeal. And I'm sure it

wasn't your intent to make light of others faith and beliefs. I, myself, am

not familiar with a religion that you described, as being norm in any sense

of reality. You've obviously not agreed with certain posts pertaining to

Gods powers of healing. Thats okay. We just wouldn't want to start

inferring that someones belief system is errational because it is not yours.

Faith and determination are a powerful source of healing, whether it be

physical or mental. We should accept this method as a viable pathway.

This group has been a great source of information. I hope we can return to

the format that has provided wonderful mutual support, where barriers for

support did not exist. (per se)

Welcome back ---Sorry about your stressful times. I know what you mean

about abuses in " religion " --that is why we can't just rely on what a man

says, but go back to only trusting in the Bible(for unity and truth).

Hope we can get on with our thyroid " treatments. " This flax seed oil remedy

for eye involvement is a real interest to me, as my left eye has been

twitching for about 2 months.

However, I am down to only 5 mg. of Tapazole a day, now.

Best wishes with your business. Lori

Wow, that is some kind of a story. I just want the group to know that I have

been on this list since the beginning, I am taking the supplements that I am

comfortable with and that are working for me. I don't take all of the ones on

the list, but quite a few, and I have to admit that I am feeling much better

since doing so. I think " is " incredibly intelligent and has done

everything he could to help each of us as individuals. Anyone who doesn't

believe in him or his help and work with this group should leave the group.

Why would anyone devote all of the time he has to this thyroid cause if he

didn't know what he was talking about? Even though i have my symptoms under

control for the most part, I am still staying on the list to watch and

listen to others and maybe pick up something usefull on occasion. I've been

on other list that have had people 'flaming' at each other, and it is not

pleasant to read all the bickering. That should be done privately amongst the

ones disagreeing with each other.

By the way, , what kind of business is it that you own? Just curious.

Best wishes that you get it back to a healthy and prosperous source for

yourself and family. Chris

Please don't think that you " let " or " allowed " this disease to get to

you--dispite our best efforts, this thing takes over whenever it wants to

for as long as it wants to. As for the constipation, try a store brand

version of Metamucil (will cost a lot less w/ the same effect....) . You

will be in my thoughts and prayers .....

Hello Everyone,

Hopefully some of you remember me. I have been gone from the group so long.

I have been struggling to try and change the quality of my life. I hate to

admit that I let this Disease beat me up so bad at times. I know you all

must know what I am talking about.

Anyway hopefully I am back on the up swing. I have been having daily back

pain that I have allowed to get me down. I had an MRI and I have moderate

to severe disk degeneration. Today I had an Epidural Injection that I am

really hoping is going to help get rid of this pain. It was amazing to me

that an x-ray showed I had mild damage and the MRI showed the real picture.

I still am having stomach problems that I don't even know what to do about.

My stomach swells up and it is tender. This worries me more than anything.

I have such severe constipation that I just can't seem to get rid of. I

feel let down with the Doc's I see. I just even hate to see them even

though for now I have to.

This was suppose to be a positive uplifting message, sorry. I am still

working barely. I am thankful for that and I do really feel some hope with

having this Epidural injection today. I have so many things I want to do

that I am just not getting done.

I know I have probably let down a lot of you that have been so kind,

compassionate and generous to me. I am sorry because I don't show it but

you are all dear to me. I am still a little foggy from this injection so I

may sound a little off. I have missed everyone and I think of you often. I

wish everyone the best.

Love,

Of course we remember you. No need to apologize for being sick, or human. We all

know what it is like since we all face or have faced the same illness. It is

nice to hear from you though. I hope your pain shot works. It always amazes me

what we are able to endure and still keep living. Here at Stilligans Island we

run fevers daily and still try to function as normal. We endure pain at all

levels, extreme fatigue, popping pills, injections, hospitalization, joint

replacements, midevil testing, and at times unreasonable employers, doctors,

family members and so on. Still, we endure and keep on keeping on, Isn't that a

major tribute to human spirit? In spite of everything, you are doing a good job

of keeping together. Just thought you should know. Thinking of you and no, you

are never forgotten, even if your keyboard gets a little dusty from time to

time. We all understand.

Dear ,

This sounds like me. I was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome

(IBS), and they fixed me right up with some Librax. Suffered a long

time, though, before I finally got to a gastroenterologist and she

figured it out. She also tested me for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)

which can be more serious. It's an autoimmune disease of the intestines.

It's worth having it checked out, because if a person has one autoimmune

disease, they are more likely to develop another. I hope it turns out to

be something simple for you.

Dear Cyndi,

Thanks for posting. I do have IBS I currently take Hyoscyamine and Nexium

daily for my stomache problems. They help with some of my problems. I will

ask my Doc about the other med. Over the counter stuff, Flaxseed stuff that

use to work for my constipation doesn't any more. If anyone has suggestions

I am all ears.

I'm glad to hear you are home from the hospital, but sorry about the

spinal headache. Hope you will get quick answers from your doc and

that it is something that will go away on its own and not require

further tweaking. Or something that will take only minor tweaking

and then will be perfect forever and ever!! You need a break.

I was hoping to hear you were well on the road to recovery...hopefully

this headache business will just be a momentary setback.

Don't worry about us...we are getting by...we only had one

questionable post over the week and and I managed to sort it out!

The workload has not been arduous....I am simply amazed at the number

of people that subscribe and unsubscribe to this board everyday.

Please let us all know how you are doing. Your health is what matters,

so rest and recover.

Hi Cam,

I must say that I cannot imagine the meaning of your comment to our dear that you and cannot get over the number of people who resign and join the group every week! Am I crazy? Are you saying they resign and rejoin et al at will? I would rather "lurk" when I'm not feeling well than sign off and on and off and on, etc. I do feel that you guys work very hard on our behalf in ways that we probably do not even understand.

I have been hanging back a bit, because I have not been feeling very well myself. This week I got put on oxygen around the clock. I had no idea how much impact this would have on my regular life! I am obeying orders because I know that there were times when I was not even making sense! I have been using oxygen in conjunction with my bi-PAP machine for quite a while now. However, my daytimes were my own, until this past week.

God love my husband! Since it is so hard for me to carry the cartridge around, he (Ch.E. engineer) put together a little "carrier" for my O2! For the first time in some time I plan to play bridge tomorrow, and just "cart" my breathing machine along! Here's hoping I make it!

My very best to you, Cam, to , and also to . I hope that you are ALL recovering well!

Sincerely,

Carole Myron

Hi Carole,

What I meant about the number of folks joining and (unjoining!)every

day is this:

The moderators are alerted whenever a new member joins, or

unsubscribes...and every day it has not been less than one a day of

each variety. It doesn't require any action by the moderator per se,

although this goes back to the old question of who is responsible

for making new members feel at home here....looking at it from this

end...it must be a job for everyone...no moderator could do more

than welcome a new member. And of course I think new members have to

help keep us all up to date on what is on their minds.

As to the numbers leaving, I suspect most of them sign up and then

find this group is fairly well focused on one aspect of scoliosis

and may not feel it is what they are looking for. I don't think they

just sign in and out to post.

Regardless, the total number of members continues to creep

upward..so more members stay than go...so I suppose our small corner

of the world means something.

I am so sorry to hear that you are lugging around Oxygen now...isn't

it your turn for a break now??!! I hope your health improves as you

adapt to this new contraption.

Best Wishes, Cam

, I know this sounds impossible but we have had very good results from spraying the raid ant and roach spray. The bombs don't work because they have a different chemical in them so it leaves me spraying by hand and we have found that if you spray "everyday" with the raid the things will die off. I don't know what these "things" are but they don't like the substances in the raid ant and roach spray. Rita

update from

My dear mite sufferers: I haven't been able to use my computer because I can't stand the mite attacks I get when at the computer. I'm sorry I haven't responded to your kind replies to me. I wanted to give you an update.

A) I was really thinking I was going mad, I couldn't bare this ordeal any longer. People were thinking I was crazy. They couldn't believe these mites could still be around after I'd had a PCO spray a month ago. I've gotten comments from people very close to me like "Just don't think about them and they won't bother you so much" and "you need to see a psychiatrist, as I think you're making more out of this than is there", Haaaaaaa! I wish.

B) Well, so I really did start wondering if I was going insane. Maybe I've acquired some bizarre mental illness set off by the mites. Then Saturday, after rising and feeling the bugs on me I went to the bathroom mirror. I had a spray bottle of Listerine/water 50/50 right there. I felt something crawl on my cheek and I quick sprayed a tissue with Listerine and wiped my face. Not only did I catch one, but it was crawling across the tissue. It was very small black dot but was moving. I put it in alcohol and took it Monday to the Colorado State University Extension Service here in Lakewood, Colorado. The scientist there confirmed it to be a mite. So after all this torment for 1 1/2 months, at least I know the biting, the crawlinging into every orifice is real. I am not insane.....yet.

C) By the way, 1 1/2 months ago I took a live sample to the vet and under the microscope we could see the mite wiggling. Ugly little creature. If these monsters were any bigger and I could actually see their features I'd be screaming in terror. The fact that we can't see themn is small silver lining behind our hurricane.

D) The vet and PCO insist I must still have a source near or in the house. I'd already checked the outside, but opened a shade to look outside and there in front of the window is a pear tree with a bird nest buried inside the leaves. I hadn't seen it before, The tree branches are right outside my window and brush against it.

Not only did I have this nest removed today, but had the house sprayed again with Bifenthrin, inside and out, in the attic and crawl space. The PCO is also going to check the roof, chimney and gutters for bird nests,

So now I'm getting ready to fog my home with a TAT fogger bug killer that was recommended (anybody use this brand?). It was one of the many suggested by a PCO.

Please everyone pray that this will kill them. If not, I'm ready to put all I own in storage for however many years it takes for them to die. I'm ready to sell my home and move to Alaska if need be. I just cannot live in this torment. It is beyond me.

God in heaven be merciful to us all.

Do like Rita says and spray around your computer and where you sit

with the Raid. Use some kind if incense in the room, it keeps the

mites from communicating, sit on a wooden chair with no padding, and

keep your feet off the floor. If your keyboard and mouse are a problem

go to Walmart and buy the Lavender smelling mothballs, put a few in

a garbage bag, stick the keyboard in it and put a twist tie around

the mouth of the bag and the keyboard cord. Do the same with the mouse

except use a ziplock bag and a twist tie. Leave over night. The

mothballs (which are a insecticde) will penetrate the keyboard and

kill the bugs inside. The smaller the garbage bag the better, it makes

for a better " Gas Chamber " . I use this method for my laptop, by

putting three mothball packets in the same part of the laptop bag as

the laptop, a couple in the pocket for the accessories, and five in

a plastic bag to but the entire laptop bag into. This kills all the

bugs in short order (like overnight). This also works well for

luggage.

Hey Y'all,

Today is the first day in almost 2 weeks that I have not been completely

bedridden. I am still having a horrible time walking, but the worst has

to be going from a sitting position to a standing position or vice

versa. I am typing from a standing position now. I went to the appt that

SSDI set up for me for depression! The doctor did not introduce himself

asked me about 10 questions, told me to go see the public health

department in his town which is impossible because I live 1.5 hours

away, and told me good luck and to leave! Disappointed? To say the

least! On the way home we stopped for a potty break, I passed out trying

to get back into the car and had to be taken to the ER. They told me

that they are NOT allowed to order MRI's through the ER. Gave me two

pain shots, a prescription for tylenol with codiene and Cipro,

catherized me, told me that I have a bladder infection and sent me home

with directions to call for an appt at my regular dr. I called for the

appt. The soonest that I can get in is February 4th. I am allergic to

the Cipro and cannot take it and after tonight will be out of the pain

pills! Welcome to healthcare in the high desert of California!

Headed back for bed now, but wanted to let you know what was happening!
