Guest guest
YES SHAYNA!!! It is OK to get food stamps when you are in the position that you are in! I get them! There is a stigma attached that needs to go away for those of us that are no longer able to work! Congratulations on getting " awarded " food stamps!!! We did work and did pay into the system! It's harder for us because we did work and pay into the system, yet it seems as though we are viewed as never having contributed!!! That's the part that kills me and makes it so hard for me to do it! It's not getting an easier, but I haven't quit yet, either!!! Please let me know about the box of food when you get it! I'll be anxiously awaiting your verdict!!! > > I have a resource for you. I just found out about it last night and apparently they are nationwide. You can order boxes of food from them. They have boxes of food that would normally run you around $100 at the grocery store and you can buy them from them for $30 > It is www.angelfoodministries.com > I have already ordered a box for the first time. I will let you know what I think. > Won't pick it up until the 25th of this month. > It is a one time a month thing, but you can order as many boxes as you want and they have add on boxes for $21 of more meats and veggies. > If you are like me and having difficulty with money and food and everything else since you became disabled or at least can't work right now...it is awesome. > You don't have to qualify or anything like that. Just order and pick it up. > I hope this helps. > I had never done anything like these things before myself. > I went today and was awarded my food stamps. WOO-HOO!!! > It will make a big difference. There is this stigma that goes along with it and I am trying really hard not to let that get to me. I have always worked and taken care of things, but damn it now I need help. This is what I paid taxes for all these years, right? > > Shayna > > > > > It is better to be hated for who you are than liked for who you aren't. > > > > From: L. <boom77boom@...> > Subject: Re: Got ONE of my issues resolved this morning! > spinal problems > Date: Friday, October 10, 2008, 3:36 PM > > > > > > > Thanks so much! Guest guest
Good for you L, I was so hoping that you could get it straighten out. Maybe things will turn around for you and you can get that SSD. It sure does help you have that allowance coming in even though its not enough, its still something. It would sure help us but my DW is working so I can forget about FS. I think I am going to try that angel food ministries, I have heard good things about them, and it helps others when you patronize the ministries. Take care of yourself, and keep us posted. geo Got ONE of my issues resolved this morning! I got the foot stamp issue handled this morning!!! I had to stumble and hobble into the office to get it done, but I did get it done!!! The person that mishandled my paperwork was at the desk! Hee hee hee! The lady that took my paperwork into the office was standing there with me glaring at her! We never said a word about her mishandling the paperwork! I just got the phone call from the worker letting me know that the issue was resolved in my favor and that everything had been taken care of for me BEFORE the weekend!!! I want to thank Y'all for " listening " to me vent. I know that for most it's a small or unimportant issue, but for me, it was traumatic. Thanks, too, for the moral support! Y'all are the GREATEST!!! Guest guest
, I'm so happy for you! I was single mom of three at the age of 24, I know how much you depend on the food stamps and how it feels when something goes wrong. I also know how difficult the SYSTEM can be... I'm so glad it worked out for you. One small victory... ________________________________ From: L. <boom77boom@...> spinal problems Sent: Friday, October 10, 2008 4:21:10 PM Subject: Got ONE of my issues resolved this morning! Guest guest
Thanks ! Yes, it was a small victory, but felt absolutely huge to me!!! The lady that lost my paperwork was the one that I gave the paperwork to this time!!! I made her give me a receipt for the papers this time!!! I was polite and curtious to her, but I did NOT want to be!!! Hee hee hee! My pain levels right now are through the roof and I just don't feel like being nice to people that are screw ups, but I was nice and I'm glad that I was!!! Thanks so much to you and all the rest for the moral support! I really needed it and appreciate it more than I can say in words!!! > > , > > I'm so happy for you!
