Guest guest
Can anyon tell me what this MRI results mean? I hope it is okay to ask this, I'm not asking for medical advice...just what it means? I got the MRI done last week: Technique: 1.5 Tesla with and without intravenous 20 cc Magnevist gadolinium. Comparison: Lumbar spine CT 3/12/2009 and lumbar MRI 9/27/2008 Findings: L4-L5 level demonstrates minimal diffuse annular bulge with superimposed right poster/lateral disc protrusion into the neural foramen. There is a posterior midline and left paracentral annular teat. There is no central canal stenosis. There is left more than right foraminal stenosis but no compression of exiting nerve roots. L5-S1 level demonstrates left-sided disc bulge with osteophytic ridge extending into the naural foramen causing foraminal stenosis with contact of the exiting left L5 nerve root. The central canal and the right neural foramen are patent. 1. STATUS POST POSTERIOR DECOMPRESSION AT L4-L5 AND L5-S1 WITH EXPECTED POSTOPERATIVE CHANGES BUT NO EVIDENCE OF ABCESS, EPIDURAL COLLECTION OR ABNORMAL ENHANCEMENT. 2. NONEHANCING PERIPHERAL ORIENTATION OF THE DOWNGOING NERVE ROOTS AT L4-L5 AND L5-S1 IS NONSPECIFIC AND INDICATES THE SEQUELA OF ARACHNOIDITIS. 3. SPONDYLOSIS AT L4-L5 AND L5-S1 SIT FORAMINAL STENOSIS BUT NO EXITING NERVE ROOT COMPRESSION.
