I have had back problems for over 3 years now.

I have a bulging disc in my lower back and the arthritis of a 50 year

old woman.

I am only 31.

I hadnt been to the dr about my back in awhile.

LAst week I went to a new dr.

He done an xray and it shows my back is straight where it should be

curved.

He worte me some meds that are not working.

I have to go back to see him next week.

Anyone else have a straight spine and if so, what have you found out

about it?

TIA

I went to a new doctor last week too. He gave me two prescriptions, which

didn't work either. I stopped taking them after three days.

Hate to tell you this but a 50 year old woman doesn't usually have

arthritis, so my doctor says. LOL

I have never heard of a straight back.

What do they think caused this?

It takes more than 3 days for the medicine to get through your system.

You should continue to take them for awhile.

That's interesting about 50yo and arthritis, I was recently amounst all

the other problems, diagnosed with bi-lateral mild arthritis in my hips at

42, I have been told by ALL of my DR's, reg. MD, pain DR, Dr or physical

science, and nerosurgeon, that this is very common. However, most people

don't realize it and therefore there isn't pain. I am not being treated

for arthritis, only for the ongoing neck, disc, facet, problems.

I'm curious when the medical profession is going to get together on what

is what?

Intersting,

Jackie

I know a lot of people who have arthritis before the age of 50.

I too wonder when the medical professionals will start sharing with each other

what thay think of individual disesases.

Straight spine means that you have lost your lordosis which is the natural curve

in the spine.? This loss is indicative degnerative changes.? My first OSS told

me I had the neck of a 70 yr old and at the time I was 24.? I am now 31 and

haven't heard a remark like that since even from an OSS

Since there are so many different Forms of Arthritis - how can anyone

make such a Statement? Rheumatoid can strike very early - even in

Children - you can be affected by Gout at any age - and even Lupus is

in the Family of Arthritis. The good old Osteo-Arthritis is more common

in older people - but 50 certainly is not too young (or too old) to

have this very painful form of this disease.

It is a disease caused by either injury, or pre-disposition and then

finally the aging process. I started having Arthritis in my Neck and

Wrists when I was in my early 40s - then I injured my Back - and then I

got older. I also have a lot of pain in my left foot which was messed

up during a Surgery - and even then (this was years ago) they knew it

would cause me problems with Arthritis in that foot in later years -

and it has.

So I don't know where this Doctor got his info or why he made that

statement - but it is obviously wrong.

I have never heard of this condition either - does it cause pain all

the time? Or only when you bend over? Do they just ignore it? I can't

see how you cut put a curve in a spine -

I would be interested to hear more about how it affects you and how you

deal with it.
